veynel swap questions!

hey
your the only guy i know that did an l28et swap into an s30... i got a question about the wiring. i know there are write ups on how to wire the EFI harness which is only 7 wires... but how about the engine compartment harness? how did you go about doin that? did you use th 240's harness or the turbo's engine harness... cause the wiring is just rediculous to use the zx harness but using the s30 harness the connectors wont match some of the sensors and such. so curious on the method that should be used and how the wiring for the engine compartment harness was done. i dont even know how wrecked is doing it... he said some stuff about how he was rewiring the car but idk.... lol. any info from any body?

To make a long story short, anything engine related (fuel, spark, power, etc.) should use the ZXT harness. Anything not used on that harness can be cut. Stock harness should be retained for things like headlights, brake lights, etc.

yeah i know im using the entire EFI harness.... but im takling about the passenger side of the engine lights thermostat oil pressure sender that junk... you used the 240's harness for that? but the oil pressure senders are diff so did you switch those to? use the 240 pressure sender on the L28ET or did you finagle it some how?

Add efi harness.... leave body harness alone. If you are using the stock gauges, you want to use the stock wiring. You should be able to use the stock oil pressure switch... tho the only difference is the connector.

welll.... yeah it is a big diff on the oil pressure sender lol. the S30 is just one wire that is held down by a nut on the post.... the s130 is a 2 prong connector lol.... so idk! i have a feeling im gonna end up having a pro wire this shizzle. bot me a mechanic thats been working datsun and nissan in teh dealerships since 81 collects Z cars and now owns his own very succesful shop, and for some reason my dad is like friends with him i went with him and my dad to go look at a 280z that my dad wanted me to buy, it was all preped for paint, it ran, it was pretty damn clean, redone interior, 5speed. i almost regret not buying it. but it had those ugly bumpers. lol.
