No Electrical!!! 240Z !!! Help!!!
Hey, thanks for reading guys, If you can help I gladly appreciate it. My problem is I Bought a 1972 240z from the origional owner. He wanted to get rid of it asap. I got it for 500.00. It was pulled like 1/3 of the way for restoration, so I did a total restoration on it. Pulled everything except the main wire harness. I reconnected all the wires: New battery----->New starter----->new Alternator----> New Ignition coil and etc... New Fuses too and connected the dash board carefully back together. I turn the key to the ON position and nothing except the hazard lights are working. So I rechecked all the wiring like 3 times. and still nothing. Please help. I am at a dead end. I spent alot into this restoration

FSM Link
I'm guessing you don't have a Service Manual, so here is a link to one you can download for free, follow the troubleshooting steps to work through what is and isn't working properly. Redo your grounds, make sure your battery has a ground to the frame. just not the starter. Check your fusible links with a multimeter to make sure you have good connections. Hopefully one of the electrical Guru's will be on later and give you additional places to look. The turn signal multi-switch can go bad and kill an older Z and cause all kinds of issues, make sure your ignition switch is working properly also.

Grats on your new Z and welcome to the forums, and good luck on finding and fixing the problem your having. This is a great resource for Z owners and lots of knowledgeable guys always willing to bend your ear. The search works pretty good , and you will find lots of posts about electrical issues, and most likely lead you to a fix.

Thanks!
I was working on it over the weekend. and finally got the electrical to work. For some reason. I used a multimeter to check out all of the electrical. All of the grounds are GOOD. The thing is It is temporary, I Hot wired a electrical from the starter to the alternator then all of the electrical works.. My uncle came and took a looked at it. He says maybe some of the relays are fried? When I take off the WIRE I hot wired. None of the electrical works... I Download a copy of the manual for my year. Thanks. Will look to it for future reference.
Are the relays hard to replace?
Would I need to touch the electricals inside the dash board?
