Finally got around to putting in that electric fan and.....
found an interesting discrepancy between what is in the "official" nissan service manual and what my unique car seems to have. (fyi....all numbers match so it's not a mutt )

Anyway, went looking for the consenser fan motor relay which should (according to the manual page HA-34) have been located with other relays located inside the right front fender. What was found is a blank spot which was marked as A/T for automatic transmission (mine is a 5speed) and no condenser fan relay anywhere there.

Also went looking for a "water temp switch", which according to page LC-13 should have been located in the intake manifold between the number 2 and number 4 injectors. What was found was a plugged hole and no wiring to it. Was this replaced by the sensor in the radiator?

Does anyone know where the relay for the condenser fan is located, if it's not on the fender where it should be?

Where does the water temp gauge get it's reading from? It can't be the sensor in the radiator because it's an on off switch at 212 degrees F. Is it the "thermal transmitter", a one wire sensor on the right hand side of the intake manifold?

TEMP GAUGE DOES GET IT'S INFO OFF THE SWITCH ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE MOTOR.(YOU CAN ALWAYS TEST A TEMP GAUGE BY GROUNDING A THE SWITCH AND WATCHING THE DASH) GLAD TO SEE YOU ARE PROBABLY USEING THE FACTORY MANUEL.NOT TOTALLY SURE ON THE RELAY, BUT I WOULD LOOK AT INSIDE KICK PANELS DRIVER SIDE AND PASS.
