More Tachometer Troubles.

Was wondering if anyone had advice on how to get a tach to work on a 1971 with an Crane XR-3000 electronic ignition? The tach has a 4-wire connection plug in the back and four bulbs(2 guage lights/2 blinkers). One problem is the car had an after market ignition system on it when I got it. Most of it was removed and I was left with a mess. Is there a way to test the tach out of the dash? Help, Kurt.

well, I put a pertronix ignition into my Z, and I was told that my tach wouldn't work either, but the guys over at Zcar.com helped me out. I don't remember the link offhand, but if you go to www.zcar.com, and search in their forum for "electronic ignition", they'd be able to help you out.

It works! I got it to work but it is not calibrated. All it was, was the wire loop was not attached to the back of the tach! Thanks for everything. K.
