Hose to where ?
I have this `73 240z and had it for the past 15 years. my question is; on driver`s side, there`s a hose coming out of the engine block used to evacuate
fumes from the engine base. It was originally connected to a smog pump (which was removed by the dealers when new.) Where should i connect this hose ? I've tried running it to the air filter box, but it sent too much crap in the filter and carbs. Then tried a `noret`valve (exhaust check valve) in the
exhaust pipe and connected the hose to it. This made a wall of smoke on the highway so i`ve removed it. That hose is now dangling free, unconnected, so fumes go out in the open and stink of exhaust fumes. I'm thinking of running a small pipe all the way to the back of the car so fumes won`t get in the car anymore. Is that a good idea, or does someone have a better solution ? A smog pump reinstallation will not be considered. I`m in Canada; no mandatory
annual inspection, very loose emission control.

That should go into your intake. Use a PCV (one-way) valve on the end of it, just like they were supposed to be when stock. Make sure it is valved in the right direction to allow pressure out of the block.
