Holley carb for 260z

Holley carb for 260z

Hey guys well i just found out the holley carb on my 260z is 450 cfm and way too big for this motor...the secondaries are turned off because the plugs get soaked if they arent....anyways so im in the market for a 390cfm holley carb 4 barrel....just want to get some info from guys who have already installed a 390 on there 260......also i still have a manual choke will i have to convert it to electric?......im very very new to carbs btw....thanks.

As i recall the SU carbs are about 200 cfm each. All you that holley is likely jetted for a 300+cid engine. Just change the jets and you will be okay. This may take some trial and error but better than buying another carb that is another larger engine. Buy a book on Holley carbs. There are retail shops that sell nothing but carb parts. Check on line.

well i have been doing lots a research on this and a lot of places that specialize in just datsuns and are reputable have told me that this specific datsun motor the 2.6l stright six should not have a carb thats any bigger then a 390cfm....so yes maybe putting smaller jets might work but i will first look for a second holley 390....thanks.

Sell the Holley and get SU's. It'll look better and drive better.

4bbl Carb

I agree with JaaVee. Get a set of ZTherapy SUs and you will not regret it. I've owned to 4 Zs and ran the 4bbl set up on two of them. In my opinion, the SUs run much better.
