blower motor problems

the a/c blower motor abruptly stopped working on my 260 last week.
i've reviewed a few wiring diagrams and understand the circuit logic, but can someone tell me where the resistors and relay are physically located, and generally what they look like?

thanks,
tony

I've had similiar problems on my 280zx. I will bet your climate control switch is shot. I found out mine was. When I took the blower motor out, and tested it with 2 wires straight from the battery. And it worked just fine. And after eliminating everything else. I determined it was the switch. Just a tip to point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Oh and welcome to Zdriver.

ok, the fan works.

i jumpered straight from the battery to the pigtail on the back of the fan and it worked fine. but that only eliminates the blower motor itself. still need to test the fuse and relay portions of the circuit, just as soon as i find them.

The fuse panel on the 260 is behind the ps kick panel. If the fuse is good try the fan selector switch. It is wired through the ignition switch.

Right gotcha man. I was just telling you what happened with me. When I checked the relays and fuse. And I really don't know how much different the Z models are. Hopefully you figure out what is going on with it. Keep us posted. And good luck.
