280z turbo: My journy begins

Ok, so i was able to get my hands on a 1983 280zxt. I will be swapping the engine into my 1976 280z over the winter. I no the engine will bolt in to it with pretty well no mods. The things i am worried about are the drive line, i have read the T5 Borg Warner transmission is not a direct swap, there are some mods needed, but i cant really find a clear write up on it. Also that the drive shaft may not fit properly, is there a aftermarket solution to this? I am also(i have looked and searched for about a week) been having problems finding what other mechanical components if any swap over. I no there is a early 280zx read brake swap write up, but is there a 280zxt brake to 280z set up out there? The wiring is also a point of concern for me, the only write up i have found is for a 1981 i believe, but the 83's wiring will be different. So i guess i am here looking for words of wisdom from the Z gods on these thing, and any other issues i can be looking forward to. Thanks

nope. the rear disc conversion on the 280Z (S30) usese 240sx calipers and Z31 rotors and adapter plates/brake lines. the motor drops in with no problems. the trans i think you just need the mount from the S130 it came with but the driveshaft i think needs shortened? i cant remember for sure on that one. the 83 is a better setup for EFI and a VERY easy wire up. its my fave harness to use so far out of the 82 and 83 (never tried and 81 harness yet)

We don't have an "official" S30 turbo swap write up yet. I'm working on it this winter (lots of crystal clear pics & instructions).

But there is already a lot of info on it around here. Have you checked the S30 motor swap section? https://www.zdriver.com/forums/240z-260z-280z-motor-swaps-non-v8-269/

I'll try doing a megasquirt install write up to add as well. Regretfully I did not get any pics when I did my swap.
