we got 18 inches. I had 3.5 foot tall drifts in my driveway though, there are 10 foot high drifts/mounds from the wind plus snow plows. the streets look like a channel system. its awesome! I plowed out my driveway in 2 hours, hopped in the S2000 and went drifting lol. There seems to be no cops, lots of snowmobiles and ATV's and no cars other than me. So I got a lot of thumbs up for not bein a pussaayy

How is it you are in different states? Are you traveling, because of a job? And if so, what do you do?

I'm only here for a day. I'll be driving north tomorrow but not going to Chicago.

I'm buying a car here. They cost a lot less over here than in Washington.

any ways, wastegate plumped!

don't hate on the welds, they aint purty but they are strong and a clean seat all the way around

a 110V mig welder... nothing fancy at all... BUT it actually penetrated very well. However it does make a ton of slag, so I have a lot of splatter as I'm sure you can tell, but with the proper control it beads pretty decently to.

And yeah, tell me about the snow haha. I got a fuuuuckccking piece of metal in my eye that wont come out witha Q-tip nor a high power magnet. soooo I will be taking care of that tomorrow.

oh and it's 18gauge mild steel for the piping, decently thick so I had some oops room, no fear of burning through

ouch! check where it attaches to the log every once in a while for cracks. steel and cast are difficult to weld without cracking. there are rods that are made for it, but 7018 works if you pre-heat to 400 degrees weld it and then peen the weld so the crystals form erratically instead of lining up.

You know that the ZX manifolds are cast steel right? not cast iron?

and yeah it kinda hurts... The ER and urgency care won't be helpful so I am going to the eye doc first thing tomorrow.

UPDATE!!!! motor and trans are in. Enjoy the pics of how everything sits snugly yet perfectly. I will have to make a heat shield or blanket for the exhaust manifold since I am an idiot and forgot to get heat wrap and just slapped it all together.DAMNIT ALL!!!!

btw, I know I should know this, but auto driveshafts won't go into a 5spd trans will they? I think the diff will have to get dropped... effin-A!!!

Such a sleeper this car will be

so yeah, auto drive shaft from a S30 won't go into a manual trans of any sort huh? different spline count I am guessing?

well didn't achieve much today, I got the trans up and mounted so that the engine was finally level, with it raised into place I found out my dump tube was point straight at my tension control rod hahaha. So I pulled it off cut it at a shallow angle, 180'd the piece and welded it back one and viola! perfect angle pointing straight at the ground, and I extended it a little flush with the frame rail height. I also found out I just don't have a proper drive shaft!!!! I have 2 280Z auto drive shafts, a 240Z auto driveshaft, and the WEIRD WEIRD s30 manual drive shaft that is thicker that all the others and has a bigger yoke flange. So it wouldn't bolt to the normal R200 flange. I am kinda pissed. Anyone got a manual driveshaft lying around they want to donate, non 2+2 obviously? haha.

I also welded up my downpipe/O2 housing, prefect wrap around the trans and very shallow bends. then I peered into the car and notice that the fricking shifter cutout is different on an auto car! IDK how the auto cars have the studs and hole cut for a clutch master cylinder and has the bar in it for the clutch pedal, but then has these dumbaaasssss differences.... anywho... pics
