What's your budget? Skill level? What will the car be used for (DD? Track? Auto-X? Drifting?)?

Do you have access to both of these engines?

At the moment I don't have a budget it will be a project car I can get both of them and once finished the car will probably be a weekend car but want some kick in it

 

So $20k - $30k is no problem? And you have the know-how to do all this yourself?

BTW, the "2JZ vs RB26" question has been more than beat to death... Some say the 2JZ is built stronger, but the majority of the votes are based on being a Toyota fanboi or Nissan fanboi.

Of course not but I'm eager to learn. I do have friends whom are mechanics in case I get stuck which will no doubt happen

 

I suggest starting with something a bit less expesive and complicated. Jumping in the deep end of the swimming pool without learning how to swim first is asking for a disaster (but that's just my opinion).
