New Wiper Blades

As is my custom, before I do anything on my 260Z, I run a search through Zdriver to verify or gather information. I am going to change my double-bladed wiper blades (which were put on by the PO about 30 years ago), mostly because they don't look good on my Vanessa (I named my car Vanessa because she is brown, older and attractive-like Vanessa Williams). Anyway, one of the posts indicated that multi-blade wipers are hard for the weak electric motors to handle. That information may explain why my blades move so slowly. I seldom take Vanessa out in the rain, so the wipers and motor are seldom used, but when I need them, I want them to work and work well. So, I plan to use the new Michelin Stealth Ultra Hybid type. They are single blade and are about $17 each, which is more than I have ever paid for a wiper blade, but they will look good on Vanessa, and if research is correct, will do an excellent job. If anyone had a negative experience with this type blade, please respond.

You probably need to clean the linkage to the wipers. Tell you what. I can help you with that for the parts you mentioned in your other post...

Re: Wiper Linkage

Steve, I have read that linkages may need a clean and lube to make the wipers work better and it will be my next list entry (if the new blades don't help). I have a running list of things I want to do for my 260z. A lot have been checked off, but some of them are lower importance or too expensive at the moment. Coming up next is to tighten the outside driver's door handle and while the door panel is off, clean and lube everything in the door and replace the water shield.

Someone else got in ahead of you on the parts, but if anything is left after this Thursday, you get the next crack at them. I'll send you an email with an attached list the evening of 5/30/13.
