240Z restoration

I am restoring a 72 240Z to as close to original as I can. Iam looking to find some good quality photos of the interior and exterior to confirm the accuracy of what I am doing. Questions like - were the original carpet loop pile or cut pile? Did the original front and rear screens have the polished lock trim in the seal rubber? How good was the finish on the pretend wood steering wheel? See, I have lots of questios only answered by some good photos. Skimmo

I will send pictures of the interior next week to your "private messages". Your reference to wind screens leads me to think you might live where they drive on the wrong side of the road, heh heh! If so there could be differences between the American and other imports. There is a book on how to restore your 240Z available from MSA.

Above is a couple interior pics of my car. it has the orginal carpet, except for the pass. area, which is covered by a mat so you cant see it.
good luck
looks to be a loop style not cut.

You may want to take a look at www.datsun.com I believe they have details re: original interiors.
My 72 is white, with a red-diamond pattern interior. My flooring and rear carpet are gone, so I can't tell you what it had originally. You could always put in some artifical astro turf (artificial grass!) as it was popular here in the states, in the 70's.
