Z Clubs in San Diego

Are there any clubs near san diego? I am buying my second Z ('91 TT to join my '92 N/A) and thought it might be a good idea to join a club. Thanks for any input.

I'm a member of club SDZ32, if you want to go sometime, shoot me a PM. Ill be gone for a month or so for Christmas break, but I'll be back next year. Go to z32.com and click on club SDZ32 to get more info.

This is the newest, and soon to be coolest Z club in SoCal/San Diego. We had a little trouble getting up and running, but we're building steam and taking off. Forgive the basic website, it is soon to undergo a major upgrade. We are working out scheduling meets and events right now. All Z cars are welcome. Anybody in the area who is intersted, let me know.

What email did you send it to? I'll clean that one up and see if it's working. Best thing to do for now is just send me PM's my hotmail account gets so much junk email that it might continue to be a problem. I'll post my alternate email on the club site when I overhaul the site this weekend. For now, just PM me or send me an email at rmoyes@***.net

The reason my friends and I decided to start our own Z club here in San Diego was mainly because after running into a few SDZC'ers we were a little put off. There was a very "Trekkie" vibe coming off of some of those folks. Don't get me wrong though, I think it's a great club. It just has a typically much "older" member base and they focus all of their meets and events down south. San Diego county as you know is a huge place with 3 million people spread out over a massive geographical area. For those of us in North County, it just isn't practical to be part of SDZC. we wanted to be a little "younger and Hipper" than those guys too. I'm not knocking them, but we have a very different approach. For what their membership costs, they don't do much. Their website is pretty weak and their newsletter is awful and poorly written. We haven't gotten far enough to start charging people to join. Once we get a little more organized and can put together some cool events though, I'm sure there will be some slight membership fee. I'm also planning on putting together a good newsletter and making the website a cool Z related place to go with info and tech tips and a user gallery. It should have lots of good stuff once I get a little time devoted to it. In the meantime, we're just hanging out and having fun. I plan on having a pretty strong SDNCZ presence at the MSA show this year. It will be our official "kick off" event and will really get the ball rolling on the whole club thing. I also hope to attract some new members at the show. Though we focus on the North County area, anyone is welcome to join if they don't mind the drive. For a while, some of my friends and I were going to the "Empire Z" meets all the way up in Ontario. That's a long way to go to hang out in Denny's parking lot for a couple of hours. That is mainly a Z32 group also and I can say that they didn't exactly "welcome" the S30, S130 and Z31 guys. There are a couple non Z32's but not many. We just wanted to be different and more inclusive and less snotty. I don't care if your Z is a raging POS, if you love it, it counts. I have run into far too many guys from other clubs that thought they were the hot **** and didn't want to give you the time of day if you didn't have what they had or didn't bow down to worship their car. I don't have time for that crap and I don't want MY club to come across that way............................................... .................................................. ...........................Rod.

Cool

Man that was hard on the eyes! (to read)

But I understand what you mean, sometimes things just

dont really click. Im in the ZCCIV club myself, and while there are quite

a few older members, I never get the feeling they are "stuckup" or anything.

they have always been very friendly and supportive since I joined.

Do you know any of the people in our club?

I'll be at MSA too this year. I'll have to come meet the n.county crew.

Our club has a pretty nice show too, a few weeks after MSA,

we should have over 300 Datsuns/Nissans in the show this year.

We have it at Quality Nissan in Temecula.

Do you know any of the AbsoluteZ Club guys? they are newer as well,

nice guys, younger crowd, sounds kinda similer to your club.

heres thier site:

http://www.absolutez.org/index.htm

ours is:

http://www.zcciv.com/

and my personal:

Good Luck to you and the new club,

i'll be lookin for you guys on the 15...(evilgrin)

What is quot? Is that "Quote"? And, if it is, I am still having trouble follwing your vernacular in the written sense. There must be a different way of talking in North SD.

That was obviously some weird HTML error that turned all quotation marks into code... I didn't type it that way in other words... Sorry. ... ... I went back abd edited out all the weridness. For some reason, paragraph breaks and simple stuff just aren't working right now. It's a mess. I have been to the Temecula show with my 280ZX the last two years and it was pretty cool. See you on the 15! ... ... Rod.
