this is my first Z i got it for 1500 and through a rod 4 days later i dont know all the differences in engines from 84-89 but i asume any turbo motor from those years should work. a line on a rebuild kit would also do. any help for the new guy is greatly apreciated.

 

quite a rare 300 you have

only 210 1989 300 zxt's were sold

the good news is that the more plentiful turbos from 87 and 88 are the same engine.


unless you are real lucky, your total engine costs are going to be close to what you paid for the car

the speedline group out west would have a low mileage engine for under $1000

thanks for the info i got a line on one from ny, its an 87 complete motor w/turbo for 900.00 they say 85,000 miles but it does have 90 day warranty

 

well the 90 days id 86 longer than your first one lasted.

don,t sell your spare turbo

you will need it sometime in the future

if not, you can get decent money for it if you become z less

[/COLOR][COLOR=Black]it would seem i need to work on my ticks and knocks. motor still good i was messing with it a couple weeks ago and it just stopped my uncle says its prob. a lifter from the lack of oil. i curently have the motor out and just had the turbo rebuilt. im waiting on the oil pump there isent anyone who can have one in less then a week and i have never seen one that looks like this one.
