looking for turbine style 'western' wheels

Looking for a set of 4 classic turbine style wheels, which I think was made by Western. Wheels to fit a 280zx lug nut pattern. Must be either good condition or at least such that it can be reconditioned (stripped, painted, clearcoated). I had seen several pictures on the internet of prior z cars with these but I like that style and think it would be fine for the 280zx (a bolder deep disk design with spokes will make the long narrow body look a little more aggressive)

Got any pics of the style you are describing?

If it's this style, I actually have a set of 4 14"s behind my garage for you:

turbine style wheel on 280zx

Hi Nismopick,

Thank you for responding. Yours is close to the design I had in mind. However they would be my second best choice since I'm looking for the one with fewer spokes and a different central cap. Perhaps if I refinish the black between the spokes it may create a different effect? I have to think about it. I may be able to find a center cap (just round, chrome or black, with Datsun Z/Nissan logo) but concerned how difficult it might be to find one that fits (similar center bore/insert collar dimensions) without the need to fabricate a spacer.

ZParts had these for sale (14x7 and not 14x6, only 3 in stock, no centercaps, some CURB RASH/dings) but their site had trouble displaying the page last time I checked (including yesterday)

BadDog on Motortopia has real nice looking turbine wheels on his 240Z
http://www.motortopia.com/cars/7908. I searched the internet based on his description "shelby cobra" but no luck.

These ones are also nice design/ and new but would require that I upgrade to a 15' tire and I doubt that the bolt pattern and offset will work on the 280zx (would have to alter the hub/ fit a custom adapter with 5 studs)

My car still has the stock 14' wheel with 4 bolt pattern

Purepointiackid has these for sale on HybridZ. However the new site hybridz does not allow me to respond to his add since I do not have enough 'points' to participate in their classified adds section)

turbine style wheel on 280zx

More specifics....

The Western Wheel - Cyclone II is closest to the design I am looking for.
They have 15 spokes; are 14x5.5, 0 offset (BS=86mm) and apparently fits the Datsun 4 lug. Not sure about the back spacing requirement for the 280zx. These are slightly heavy at 16lbs each (the 14x6 stock 6 spokes wheels I have are only 13.6lbs!). But I do like the look of the Cyclones...here is an excellent example of them on a 240Z
http://www.zparts.com/71red240z-600s.jpg

The Western Wheel - Cyclone I is what I think you have Nismopick. They have 30 spokes; and from what I understand are 14x5.5, 0 offset and also fits the Datsun 4x4.5" bolt pattern, at 15.5lbs each. Not bad, may be trouble to clean between those many spokes...and I just don't know what they will look like on a Z car. Do you have a picture of the car they are on? What are the size of the wheels you have?

Very similar in looks to the Cyclone II, at least in my opinion, are the American Racing (ARE) Vectors. They have 10 spokes; either 14x6 (15.5lbs) or 14x7 (17.5lbs), 0 offset and fits Datsun 4x4.5" bolt pattern. The Vector 14x7s are heavy and would require a spacer (I think...then not my choice).

Then there is the Kelsey-Hayes, and they have 20 spokes. They don't have the flat polished surface area around the hub, which is a nice detailing aspects of the Cyclones. They are 14x6.75, -8.5mm offset (BS=106mm) and also fits the Datsun 4x4.5" bolt pattern, at 15lbs each. What BadDog has on his car on Motortopia appears very similar, although counting his wheel only has 15 or 16 spokes
