I raced with my friend last night. 100% Stock 06' 350Z Vs. 2003 Mitsu EVO VIII mods. These're mods for his car = Cold air intake, Intercooler pipe, Turbo pipe, HKS Stuff(I really don't know ), Blow off valve, Clutch Stage 3........ect. He has stock boost and no test pipe.

We raced from a roll from 40mph to around 125mph. I got a jump from start at 40 and i start pull away by slowly till 125. It's about 3 cars range. We did 3 races and all same result.

Is this suppose to be 100% Stock 350Z win EVO VIII mods with stock boost?

I ask you guys because i never race with EVO with my 350Z before.

the 03 had a different turbo than your evo mike, not quite as good. justin's stock 05 is the opposite from a g35c 6sp... also, a lot of evo drivers dont know where or how to properly shift.

 

But me and my friend raced from roll. We horned it 3 times and go. Also we have raced 3 times to make sure that no one get a jump first.

You guys are right about the driver is very important. I beat him because i know all the shift point on each gear and power shift that i love to do all the time.

So anyway EVO suppose to be a car faster car than 350Z even if they're 100% stock too?

 

Stock...only from a dig...but he had some pretty good mods to keep up or pull on a roll.

 

Turbocharged cars have the advantage from a roll... spoolin! (I guess I should again say... IF the driver knows what he's doing).

 

yup he prolly didnt brake boost so he wasnt at boost when you hit it... however stock numbers for the 1/4 mile is 350Z i think 14. and evo is 13.2 soooo something is a miss

 

being a former evo owner with a much of money in it i can help a little. Stock for stock i have pulled an evo from a roll. An evo with a flash and boost contoller will kill a stock z or g35c from a dig and roll. If he doenst have a flash and most likley doesnt all those mods mean crap. the intake is hurting him, intercooler pipes dont add hp unless there are supporting mods. after market BOV hurts the car as well. tell him to get a test pipe, boost controller and a flash. then race him....

as for evo from a roll, awd hurts them up top. i used to love killing corvettes etc.. from a roll it was much closer. as for quarter mile evo's run 13.xx at about 99 to 101 depending on driver. z's and g's run 14.xx at 98-100. AWD > RWD traction wise up not not the case....

 

EVOs suck from a roll...they are 13sec cars primarily from the launch.

Essentially what lvnvg35c said...without a tune, the mods without the flash/tune probably are hurting the Evo.

 

uhhh I have raced a g35 with my evo from a roll (roll ons those of you in the know) and a dig, known good driver... destroyed him both times especially the roll at the top of 4th it was 4-6 cars not even a race.... brake boosting does wonders for building 20psi.

brake boost... forgot about that... prolyl raped him on a torque jump since he didnt brake boost... starting that car out near vacumme until lag is let off the car is gonna create crap for power....

 

In stock form...redline.
