We must appoint a new leader.
We must appoint a new leader.
Well I have gotten to a point in my life where I have to simplify and unfortunately, forum whoring will be the first to go. With work and my car, it has gotten to the point where I physically don't have time to do much anything else and its starting to make my car hobby more stressful than fun. I literally have to schedule in washing my car two months in advance and that is sad. I am missing out on little things that I wish I could do like go to the gym, see a movie with my girlfriend, take a nap, and 1000 more things I could list. I see my racing buddies more than I see my regular friends who have been there long before I got the Z. I want to go to a bar on a Friday night and get drunk with my buddies instead of going to bed as early as I can to wake up at 6:00am and head to a track. I want to go on a vacation without trailering a car. Alot of things in my life are being neglected so I have to make some changes. I need to concentrate more on work so I can pay for my new house without being worried if I can make the next payment. There are a million reasons for me to get a lot less involved in my 350Z.
I will continue to race my car and finish out my year as planned of course because thats what I love to do and that won't change. However, once all of my current sponsorship agreements expire, there will be no more sponsors for my car. This way, I don't feel that I have to keep anybody happy by going to a ton of events, getting magazine exposure, etc.
So with that being said, NV350Z / NVG35 will need a new leader. This forum will need a new moderator, and the website, will need a new webmaster. I would hate to see this club fall apart, but I have to do what I have to do. So somebody please step up to the plate and take over.
I say we start with nominations for each catagory, then have a silent vote for the winners. PM me your nominations for "Leader", "Moderator", and "Webmaster." The nominees will be announced on Monday the 5th. If you are nominated and you wish to decline the position, PM me and you will not be taken out of the voting. Voting will be the 7th-8th and the winners will be announced on the 9th.
If nobody is nominated, or none of the nominees want to take on the task, the task will not be completed. I am not doing it, period. I have everything setup for the club to work properly and to be easy to manage for whoever takes over.

I hear ya Mike. I was quite relieved when I moved here just to not have the responsibility of the club. Yes, it was a great experience, one I think all should have, but it was entirely too time consuming. I think 1 year as the "host" of the club is about all that can be had without having to neglect your other loves. I would do it, but its not a good time for me right now, I am building my business like you.
I must say that once I am settled, I would love to be the "host" of NV350, so possibly sometime in the next year or two.

Oh I understand Mike. You and I kind of came up with this idea for a club and you have been much more pro-active in making it work than I have. At the time I wasn't working two jobs and I have just bought a new home myself so I understand completely. Anyway your right, you have left the foundation for someone; I hate to say younger, but someone with allot more free time to spend on the fourms, racing, car shows and managing simple meets.
Just wanted to say that you are appreciated.

Thanks Sam.
I really have drawn up a lot of forms, got the website going, put a small contact list together, and done a bunch of other stuff that makes running the club a lot more simple and easier for whoever takes over so don't be scared. Its really not that big of a responsibility.
I would love someone to take the club over and make it even better. Organize more events, recruit more members, and maybe even host a car show or something.

Mike, you've created an awesome club. Im sure everyone understands and appreciates your decisions. I would be more than happy to take the reins, but if all turns out well by selling our piece of property, we'll be moving to Kentucky by the end of the year.
I just have to get out of this crazy city. Borne and raised here, but its no longer the same.
Anyway it would'nt be fair to anyone for me to split in six months, although
I'll be happy to help out with whoever accepts the position.

Thanks for stepping up to the plate Kenny! I will put your name on the nominee list. People know your situation now, so they can either vote for you or not when the time comes. I think you would be an awesome candidate for the job, even if it is only for 6 months.

I will see what I can do about the website.
My concern is that I have started another full time job and am going to school full time. Some weeks I have a few hours of free time, and other weeks just enough time to sleep.
I would just hate to have the website lack behind do to my schedules. Although, I will try.

I'm nominating myself for MODERATOR and possibly WEBMASTER. Even though I'm thousands of miles away and am technically not with NV350Z anymore, I can still manage the websites since I have computer access all the time.
Mike - you did a helluva lot in a really short period of time. I hope you didn't burn yourself out. I turst we will see you at the track on occasion after next year. Finding the balance is the key.
My car resources are primarily spent on Porsche activities. I will continue to support NV350Z Club events when I can, but I don't have the time to be in charge of anything.
