Because, as I had previously stated prior to my appointment, I suck at the job. We've got some new faces and we need someone to bring us all together but I ain't the one. I just work too much, or when I do manage to set something up it goes kaput for one reason or another.

Don't think it will help. Car guys are flakes. Doesn't matter how far in advance something is planned. General rule is 1 out of 10 who say they're coming actually show up.

 

I don't know how it is now, but when I was around, we had great turn outs on most of the events.

Just out of curiosity, why do you call "car guys" as flakes?

 

Because every car club I've been associated with has had problems getting people together. I've been into cars all my life and I've been working on them for 18 years. I've only met a few "car guys" I could count on.

 

I've only been to one meet out here and yeah, the turn out was sad, which kinda turned me off to future events...I can't be the project leader or whatever, but as long as I am not working or busy I am pretty good at making meetings...did whenever I could in Cali.

I wouldn't say 1 out of 10, its usually at least 3, lol...from my exp.

 

The problem I think, is that there are no events being planned. There is obviously club participation on the forum, but there is nothing going outside of that. Sure, not everybody will show up, most of the meets will probably be the same small group who show up all of the time, but as long as they remain fun, I don't care how many people show.

 

How many generally show up to meets...on a good day?

 

ra2289 and cobra should come out to the toy drve meet . My car is going to the dealerhsip ont he 28th. Hopefully il lhave the car back by then... If not I will drive my mom's truck and load all of the toys into that Hope you two can come out and join us

 

1 person showed up for the Valley of Fire cruise. 1 person showed up for the SEMA dinner. Nobody showed up for the Tuesday night Sushi. I think that Mike showed for the first Thursday night Fastlap. Only i8acobra and I showed up to that last little carshow that I thought Mike was supposed to be in but even he didn't show up for.

I don't think that the number of events planned is really the issue.

 

Forgot to mention that I'm pretty much the only one that shows up to the Wednesday night meets.

 

I think that only 2-3 people made it out to HIN.

 

I was goin to the wed night meet because I used to work at that best buy in that same parking lot. But my dumbass dropped my keys in the garbage can and i couldnt find em.. Oooo and how did those pics from the VoF turn out ty?

I went to HIN but only saw Mike. He said that you were running around somewhere but I never found you, only saw your car in the dirt lot

 

The Valley of Fire pics came out like crap. Too dark and I had my camera set up wrong.

As far as meets go Vegas is just strange in that everyone has plenty to do. You just mention the word MEET in SoCal and you've automatically got 20 people there regardless of where or what it is.

 

Once I get my schedule early in Dec. I will know if I will be able to make it...I work 24hr shifts so if Iwork that day then I am pretty much screwed.

This is def. true about SoCal but we still had like 15 or more people sign up and only a handfull make it- it happens like that sometimes. It seems like I got my Z at a weird time or something because it seems to be a lot of "Well the meets used to be great" going around, lol. But me I am all for meets its just the timing I guess.

When and Where are the meets on Weds. I wouldn't be able to make any anytime soon due to work, but I am still interested.

 

We just need to get back into a rhythm. Some of you (Ty, Sam, Rob, Aarif, John, etc.) remember when we first started this thing. We had probably 6 people all together in the club and our meets and meetings were 4-6 people strong always. Remember the dyno day at Silver State Motorsports? Remember the meetings at Nikki Lees? Those all had great turnouts because it was a new club and people were excited about it. Since I have been getting busier and busier, I am not able to plan or attend nearly as many things as I used to. Nobody else has taken the responsability either so everybody just kind of fell off.

We have had a lot of people come to these forums and introduce themselves, and I have met probably 10% of them. Why? Because we never have anything going on. New guys aren't going to feel comfortable planning stuff, I know I wouldn't. Then when they do come to a meet, its a bust, so they don't come to any more. These are all of the same reasons that I am not involved with the Sin City Z Club anymore.

I mean really look at who regularly shows up...its just Ty, like always. . I wish I could show up to more things, but I can't. This club needs someone to really step up to the plate, plan some good meets, and show up to them. I would love to plan meets all of the time, but the reason I don't is because I know that I won't be able to show up to most of my own meets. The meets themselves take 30 seconds to plan, just come up with an idea, and post it on the forum. We just need somebody who can show up to them to do the planning.

 

Ok, I just counted the user names in the Introduce Yourself thread. If everybody that introduced themselves stayed interested and active, this club would have 40 members right now, and thats just the names of the people in the introduce yourself thread. I can think of a few people who came around long before that as well. Check this list out and see how many of them you have met and out of that number, how many are still active right now. I count 6...

Joe - I forgot his username. SS 350Z lowerd a lot on track wheels with JIC single exhaust and CF hood.

Then there is one I forgot that had the white APS TT 350Z a while ago. He came to a few things, including a Nikki Lees meeting. And I am sure there are more that I am forgetting.

The point is, getting people interested in the club is not the problem, its keeping their interest that isn't working.

 

BTW, what ever happend to KennyZ, Zrolimit, and pope?

I actually saw ZroLimit yesterday when I was on my way home from the Air Force base. Didnt get to say much to each other because we were driving down the road talking out of our windows. All he said is that he saw me at the track and nice times.

I remember the days when I planned a few things and we had a grip of people show up... but that was just to eat and hang out.

That sounds good too though, most if the meets I went to where just a cruise, then we would go hang out and eat...but it sounds like that was a little while ago...

 

Yeah it was. Not too long after Mike started the club, I joined the group and it has expanded ever since.

I don't know about Kenny, but Zro may have gone down range a while back, and Pope's doing his own thing since his arrival to Vegas. You should see the tattoo he got!

 

We should all try and get together at LVMS on Dec. 1st for the season finale I think it starts at 7pm.
