I'm going to sell my old head for what I bought the new one for. That way, the only thing I'm paying for is the head work itself.

This is my treat for myself while I keep working for the man for another 12 months. Yeah , I was going to go back to school full time in the Spring, but I wanna move out of the ghetto of North Las Vegas. I have to wait until August to move (to avoid capital gains taxes) so I can't sell now. If I'm school full time with no steady income, I won't be able to buy a new home when the time comes! So I'll keep working until after I buy a new house in Green Valley or Summerlin. Yeah, it will put me about 1 semester behind to go part time to school instead of full time, but I don't think that I can stand my neighborhood for 4 years while I finish my degree(s). You know how it iz, homey.

Nforce, once I get my Miata together, I'll let you take it for a spin. You WILL want one for the track...

Ok, that sounds good.

Brian - look in the Pardee homes out by Hualapai and 215. I just put myself on the list for their Madera neighborhood. 3800 s.f. house for mid 400s!

Today's install was, I'd say, 80% sucessful! If we only had another 2 hours, everything could be completed. The flywheel and clutch looks beautiful, but will never see daylight again . As for us physically, we were nearly broken from 9 hours of working. I'll let Brian tell you the rest of the install. Overall I had quite a good time and was a great learning experience.

Went pretty good, I need to drop the back end another half inch today, but yeah my legs and lower back were worn out after installing everything.

The clutch install was pretty tough. Being the newbies that we are, we had tons of little problems that ate up alot of time. And Cris and I were so beat by early afternoon, it made us that much slower. We worked for 9 hours straight with no breaks, even to eat. All I can say is that I owe Cris several dinners+ for the effort he put in. We ran out of time to button up the project at Nellis so I had the car towed home so that I could finish it up Sunday. I finished torqueing everything up Sunday and then made the decision to install the springs. I'm a glutton for punishment. 9 hours later (and 18 hours total), the car rolled out of the garage.

Well, the clutch works...mostly. I'm getting clutch chatter when I take off in first or reverse. After than it's fine. Some people have suggested that it might be grease/oil on any of the clutch/flywheel surfaces. I was pretty careful about that (clean hands and wiping everything down). All I know is that if it doesn't go away, I'm taking to a professional. There's no way I'm going through the effort of pulling that tranny again.

The springs rock! 1-1/2 drop all around. With the KYB AGXs, the car handles like it's on rails. Very impressed...

Turbo kit and head will be here tomorrow. I've got less than 2 weeks to get this clutch problem worked out.

I'm glad that almost everything came out fine. I was going to check out your car on Sunday, but I forgot where you lived since I neglected to bring my cell phone or check your address before I left. I gave up after driving around for a few minutes dumbfounded. If anything, bring it by Cottman Transmission (1080 N. Rancho).
