I'm wondering if my catch can install could have lead to the low compression numbers. There's a spot in the hose where it joins another, larger hose that fits around the catch can inputs. That spot isn't sealed, just clamped. I'll take that sucker off when I get the next test.

The catch can will have no effect on a compression test. The catch can evacuates pressure from the crankcase, not the cylinders. If you have alot of pressure in the catch can (lots of oil), chances are you've got blow-by caused by bad rings. A leak down test will diagnose this.
