Wink Renault engine in an s2k?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Ok I admit it I want more power out of the car but I was thinking about going the route no one has ever thought of going. I'd like to swap a Renault RS24 motor into the car. It seems like the best motor for the job since it keep with the original charateristic of the s2k, low displacment and high revving. It also has a very proven record on tracks all over the world. I just don't know if it would fit and who would I get custom mounts done by. Maybe one of you guys could would have any ideas on a place that does custom motor mounts?

Here is a video of the engine on the dyno....

Any thoughts? comments? or concerns?

The motor alone will cost almost as much as the S2K! And a titanium 6-speed semiauto sequential transmission to go with it? Maybe a bit on the impractical side (and I use that term loosely), but like VegasEdge said, it would own all!

- 3.0L
- 72 degree V-10
- 800+ bhp @ 18,000 rpm
- Approx. 250 ft-lb torque @ max rpm

Sounds delicious!

Custom Motor Mounts. No problem.
Talk to Scott at Renegade Hybrids.

Yeah, ok man. Put the crack pipe down and slowly step away from the edge of the cliff.

That engine would probably cost you $700k and need to be torn down every 1500 miles and heaven forbid that you throw a rod, which happens more often than you would think btw.

On the plus side it does run on gasoline. 102 octane would probably giterdone.

Just read that Renault is making an RS25 now so you might be able to get a deal on an RS24. Around $200k I'd guess.

You would so own autocross and track events I say go for it.

So I was way off with the pricing of the motor, huh? Maybe that's the price for the tranny!

I've been holding off on r-comps for a really long time now. Maybe since I'm looking at that motor instad of looking at r-comps I hsould look at full race slicks

WTF!!! How much $$$$ are you making at Sunset Station valet!? It is a really cool idea though. For those prices I would buy a Radical though.
