NV350Z / NVG35 Tech Session

Who: NV350Z / NVG35 + whoever else from this board.
What: Tech Session
Where: My House (PM me for directions)
When: Saturday January 28, 2006
Why: To help me finish up my car.

I am sure I am going to need help finishing up my 350Z on this date. I need to have it all done by Jan. 31st and I am not going to have that much time to work on it. I have 8 days of the week when I can wrench for a few hours after work, but realistically that will probably turn into 4 or 5 days where I actually can do so. Then aside from that I only have one weekend (the 28th and 29th). I really want to get it all done the 28th so I can wash/wax/detail it the 29th and take some photos. Here is what needs to be done...

Manditory:
Remove all sound deadener glue and the remaining sound deadener
Roll Bar padding
Seibon TS Hood
Re-Locate Odyssey battery
Defi Boost Gauge
Defi Exhaust Temp. Gauge
Defi Oil Temp. Gauge
Defi Control Unit
Defi Heads Up Display
Custom make gauge pod
Fire Bottle Fire Supression System
DataCam Video Datalogger
G-Tech Performance Meter (hardwire)
Kinetix Rear Camber / Toe Arms
Corbeau FX1 Pro Seat
Replace old decals with new ones

If We Get Time:
Custom fabricate console filler pieces
Custom fabricate window switch holders
Custom fabricate undertrays
Lay speaker box carpet on floor of car
Corner balance
Adjust Camber / Toe

Thats all I can think of for now, but I am sure there is more. I think I may be able to knock out the sound deadener stuff on the weekdays and maybe the Kinetix Rear Camber / Toe Arms and Corbeau FX1 Pro seat. The hood I am sure that I want help on because it is so big and the gauges I will probably need help on too. The rest of that stuff shouldn't be too hard.

Oh, and the goal is to have all of this done by 5:00pm so I can make it to the LVRSCCA Awards Banquet by 6:00pm

Thanks Smitty. If you could show up for a few hours that would be awesome. Hopefully everything is done by the 30th, but if I still need help I will let you know.

Thanks guys. I just got word from VRT that they had a little setback and it wont be tuned by this weekend so that cuts down on my time even more. They are going to deliver it to me when its done sometime next week.

Define setback. Setbacks scare me especially when it comes to high hp engines.

1st setback, they balanced the crank with the wrong set of bearings. The use Nismo bearings, but the crank was balanced with the OEM bearings so they had to re-balance it with the Nismos...

2nd setback, my wheels got powdercoated gloss black instead of flat black.

Yes and no. As you can see by my signature, I have been telling everybody that my project will be completely done by the 31st of this month. That is looking more and more like it wont be completely done with all of the stuff on the list above. I also have a track day on the 4-5 of Feb. that I am already pre-registered for.

Ok realistically, this is what I would like to get done over this weekend...

1. Seibon TS Hood w/Sparco hood pins
2. Defi Gauges w/Control Unit in custom housing
3. DataCam OBDII Datalogger
4. Corbeau FX1 Pro Seat
5. Fire Bottle Fire Supression System
6. Kinetix Rear Camber/Toe Arms
7. Odyssey PC 680 Batter (re-located to the rear)
8. Adjust sways to full stiff

I will be working on this as much as I can during the week and I am doing two hard all day/night sessions Saturday and Sunday. I also have a few days during the next week to finish up if we don't get all of that done. But, by Thursday February 2nd, I need to have these things done and the car on the trailer ready for Buttonwillow.
