New parts and a body mod

I finally installed my new APS plenum and strut bar. I had them powdercoated metallic blue to match the intake before installing them. I also had to modify the heck out of my CF engine cover in order to reuse it. While I was in there, I installed a homemade catch can (it's attached to the strut bar in the pics). This is the same homeade catch can I've been using on all of my cars for many years. Works great and costs under $15. Here's the pics:

Here's my new body mod.... courtesy of one 80 year old guy not looking behind him before backing out of his parking space. This is the second time I've been hit and I've only had the car for 3 months:

OK, a few things...

1. How much to powdercoat and how long did it take, could it be done in a day and dry over a weekend? (keep downtime low, had enough of that lately)

2. Did you cut the cover out yourself, or did you have it donoe by a shop? I have been trying to figure this one out for sometime without it looking too crappy.

3. Time for a bumper mod!

4. Lastly....damn, that is looking hot.

Naw all I got with that one was a $1000 deductible payment, a new bumper, fender, and a whole month of going to work in the 97 F250 that looked like It was in an Iraqi sandstorm.

Wreck wasnt even my fault, stupid valet over at boulder station did it. He remote started it in gear (Told him to park in N with the E-Brake) and lunged forward and hit a honda accord. Accord drove home that night, mine had to leave on a rollback.

1)Powdercoat was done by Cedco Iron. Guy's name is Mark. They're off Rainbow, south of Hwy. 160. Looks great in pictures, but it's not showcar quality. Looks good for the price though. $75 to do the plenum and bar. I prepped and masked everything myself. Took two days. Dropped it off Monday, picked it up Wednesday. My buddy had his YSR50 frame done in one day. As far as drying time, they bake it right after they coat it.

2)Yes, I cut the cover myself. I used my dremel and much trial fitting until I got it right. Then I sanded the edges smooth and painted them with a little clear to seal them.

4) Thanks.

Other guy's insurance is paying for a new bumper. I'm probably going to go with a stock bumper since I eventually want a CF lip kit. I was going to go with a Stillen bumper, but not anymore. As for the oil cap, I'm thinking of doing the whole Zeetoyz kit plus their brake and clutch covers, a/c caps and keyfob cover all in blue:

^^^ be careful, i seem to recall that ztoyz caps may not fit well - or they get scraped by the hood - something like that.

I've got all kinds of free time. You buy the pizza and soda, I'll bring my tools.

Re: body mod.

I just talked to the other guy's insurance. Seems the guy changed his mind about who's fault it was. He backed into me and admitted it was his fault when it happened, but he told his insurance company that I rear-ended him. I just got an estimate.. $957. I also just got off the phone with my attorney. He's going to send a 30 day demand letter. If the guy doesn't pay up, it's off to small claims.
