My Z Finally Goes FI
I got clearance from a new partial sponsor that I can go ahead and spill the beans on what will be going on with my car before next season. I will have one of the first batch of the new JWT Twin Turbo!!!! It utilizes smaller turbos that reach full spool at 2200rpms and should put down a safe 400whp. This is the first step in my dealings with the people that are making this possible for me. Next will be a built motor and big brake kit. My new partial sponsor is Violent Racing Technology (VRT). Now I know what you are going to say Rob and I actually talked to the guy and he is a really cool guy and was willing to work with me. I am bringing the car down to their shop in San Diego in the next few weeks and it should be back in my hands beginning of January. Jim Wolfe works solely with them for R&D on his new TT kit and only offers it on VRT built cars. I will be the 4th or 5th I think to have this, but I am their first track ***** sponsorship. You can check them out at www.violentracing.com
I am f**king excited.

Well its a partial sponsor not full. I would have posted a picture of the pants I peed if it were a full sponsorship. Anyways, its still going to cost some money, but its a damn good price for what it is. To answer your question Rob, he PMed me to talk about options after I posted up some questions about forced induction. He did his speech, I directed him to my website, I gave him my speech and we worked out a deal. He really likes the fact that I go to a lot of track events and that my Z is gutted. This will be the first one he does that is built solely for the track so thats why he is so interested.

Ok, again I have made another big decision regarding this. Some of you have heard my motto: "Do it once and do it right, because doing it twice always costs more." So living by this motto I have decided to go with a built motor with JWT cams and JWT Clutch/Flywheel along with the TT kit. I will be running probably 13.5 lbs. of boost and the cams reportedly add another 40whp. I am going to try and bring my car down this Sunday for them to start.

wow - that can get costly doing forged internals. it might be a good idea seeing as how the JWT is a new kit and who knows how safe it will be on the stock rods and pistons, then you won't have to worry about it. you'll definitely need the clutch, although my understanding is the JWT clutch isn't good for much beyond 400whp, and it sounds like you may be sailing past that at 4k rpms. you'll want to look at the ATS triple carbon clutch setup sharif sells.

Acording to them the JWT clutch/flywheel will work fine. Thats what they use on all of their other built cars.

As of right now the Z is back on the ground and ready to go to San Diego tomorrow!!!! I fired it up for the first time today since I gutted everything out and everything ran smoothly except for the airbag light keeps blinking. I don't know why, but hopefully I can figure it out. Other than that, I have the test pipes in with no O2 sensors and I didn't get a CEL lol. It doesn't have O2 sensors in it because I cannot for the life of me get them out of my HF Cats. So Smitty, when we install your cats my O2 sensors will go with them lol.

leave the battery undone for 24 hours, or pay nissan $90... if i was still there, i would do it for free... i know how... just dont have the $10000 machine only nissan dealers can own... oh, you may have unplugged the seatbelts, or anything else in that system too, so check everything. if you removed the stereo, check back there again too. there are a couple of plugs back there stereo shops always leave undone... good luck!
