Everybody Mark Your Calenders

I am taking it upon myself to organize an event to bring the club back together. We haven't done anything as a club for a while and I think we need to get the ball rolling again, so here it is...

Who: NV350Z/LVG35C
What: Dinner followed by drag racing
When: Thursday September 01
How Much: Price of dinner + $20 to race or $10 to spectate
Details: We will meet at Poppa's Sports Grill off of Craig Rd. near I-15 at 6:00pm. We will get some food and take a few photos before we head out to the speedway for the Thursday Night Street Wars. We need to get to the speedway as early as we can because they limit the number of cars that can race.

If you can, please take one night out of your busy lives to come and hang out with the club. Even if you don't want to drag race, just show up at Poppas for the good conversation.

Head Count:

1. Mike - Dinner & Drag Racing
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

All you forced induction guys need to come out to this to have a battle between the Stillen Stage 3, APS Single Turbo, and APS Twin Turbo. So far my slow 350Z has the fastest 1/4 mile for the club at 14.413@99.22mph so come out and take that title from me. Rob I know will be there.

Also that weekend (September 3 & 4) the local SCCA and Porche Club of America is holding an open track weekend at the track in Pahrump. For those who have never been track racing, I highly suggest taking advantage of this opportunity because the SCCA/PCA has THE BEST beginner driving education program that I have seen to date. The Z wasn't built to drag race, it was built for the track so come out and at least try it once. I will be there with my Z both days. It is $175/day or $300 for both days.

Just for fun, let's have a reaction time challenge. I'll put up $20 (it ain't much, but it'll cover your entry fee) to whoever comes up with the best reaction time for the night.

You can show up until 11:30p. I haven't seen them actually stop anyone from coming in due to the limit on cars yet, plus with school in session I think that the turnout will be lower.

So John - you'll go to the track but not race? Willing to take some video if that's the case?

I'll show up for the grub and spectate. My Z is my daily driver and I don't want to break her until my savings account gets a little fatter. Rob I have a video camera (Sony 9mm) that I'll bring but I'm going to have to find someone to put it on disc if everyone wants it.

I'll be out ther until midnight at least. It's cheap reaction time practice. I'm still thinking real hard about bracket racing next year.

I hope someone shows up with a new Eclipse. I want to run against one. I get the feeling that they are going to be quicker than advertised.
