370z
Anyone planing on buying one of these, or went to test on out yet? I think they look great, but I want to hear from a Z person before I have one shipped here, Car and Driver said it was a over all improvement from the 350. Im hoping by May they might have the NISMO package out.

nismo package is a rip off, a full exhaust lip kit and slightly stiffer springs and different wheels for a price jump of like 10k or some crap. at least thats what it was for the 350Z. kinda rediculous. cool car, just to much money for something you could do for 1/3 of the price haha. i do want to go test drive one though, might have to get around to doing that.... if so i'll let you know what i think. though, i never drove a 350 so i wouldn't have anything to compare it to other than every other Z in existence.

Some pretty impressive numbers for the 370 in Motor Trend: 0-60 in 4.7, quarter mile in 13.3. Seems like an overall improvement over the TreeFiddys....smaller, lighter, quicker....and styling-wise, a little more 240Z-ish. That said, IMO not enough of an improvement to trade-up.....besides its nice having no car payment!
Snw, you had a perfect opportunity to drive a 350 last summer and you didn't even ask....

well then
ya the numbers are impressive I love the fact they look more like the older Z. I dont plan on selling any of my cars, If i doo choose to buy one. But I want to test drive one or at least Hear the car is worth the hype from someone that knows the Z cars. When I test drove the 350, I was impressed but I have a problem with new cars... I hate compter controlled cars, Although the "traction controll on the 350z" ya thats a fluke or at least it doesnt work on the 2 I have driven, witch was fine with me. I just think a sports car should feel like a Sports car and have no limitations due to a computer. But you cant argue with new car design and function, Interior is night and day compared to my 280zx heheh. Oh and the new car smell!

you can turn off traction control, and the new 370 has more computers even, it has a mode you can activate so it rev matches the car for you when shifting the gears so you dont have to heal toe on downshifts.... kinda takes away from driving imho but im sure would be helpful for all types of racing, also its a mode so it can be switched on and off. though its also just more to go wrong.

better deal
Well this is my opinion, The vette more than likly would out perform the 370z from factory but my thing is I am a NISSAN guy through and through. I think the stlyin of the z has and hopfully will always be better than a vette. Im not a vette guy at all but Im not stupid The LS series of engine is a beast. But if I'm gonna spend 40k on a car its gonna be a Nissan. But wouldnt the GTR be in the same class as the Vette Anywho, Vette is Cheys super car, The Z is more like the Camaro in relation... But like I said Thats my opinion

unless you're talking about dealer markup, the most expensive 370Z is not $41,000
I just was looking at Nissan's website the other day. I think its about $38,500 with everything. (not auto though)
You're paying for a lot of luxury options there though.
Does a top end Z compare to a base model Corvette? I'm not sure and I dont' care.

Sport model 370Z is just fine for $33,000. Revmatch transmission not available on the corvette! doh!
Interesting how you can buy a 2009 370Z coupe, or a 2009 350Z convertible.
