jwt dual pop charger / hks hard pipes
what do you guys think about this setup?
1991 300ZX TT:
-jwt dual popcharger
-hks hard pipes
in addition to stillen exhaust i already have ...
where can i get good prices on a dual pop charger setup and the hks pipes? do you think the dual pop charger is a waste?

hey
pearly,i think thats a great upgrade, but honestly i would prefer to invest on a jwt ecu first,im not sure that you are going to feel more power with the dpc if your car is not generating more than 300hp,thats just my opinion.and also myself would like to know if thats a good upgrade, because my car is completely stock,so i step back and let the real pros like rizz and the others to plant their seed in this topic, later
oh, this ? again.
The hard pipes are a good idea if you want your engine compartment to look nice. They won't play into the performance aspect until you upgrade intercoolers and other stuff.
As far as dual pop, is concerned. You don't need that until your car is well into the 450-500hp range. A single filter flows enough air that two is overkill. Besides once your into that hp range, it'll actually be worth going into all the work of having the two filters in place. You have to mess around with all the air metering devices and ecu. Tsefreeflow is correct. You'll need to have your ecu modified to have the dual filters in place. Otherwise the engine is going to receive too much air, run in an overly lean condition and cause detonation. By the time your in the 450-500hp range you'll hopefully have upgraded your ignition and fuel systems effectively enough to compensate for the extra air that you'll be introducing into the engine with a dual filter setup.
That's why if you check the JWT site, you'll notice that they charge something like $500 or so for the upgrade. That includes not only the filters but a new eprom for the Ecu. An initial jwt ecu upgrade at this point would make more sense, especially since you have a tt.
