FAQ for icice9
i was just wondering how much $$ you've poured into your zx so far to get it were it is today eg your engine, interior and bodywork and how long has it taken you?? also have you ever had you're car dyno'd what kind of hp do you have at the rear wheels???

lol i like the topic... but anyways.. i put a little over $8000 into everything.. the paint was and body work was worth the most.. all in all i put around $4500 with the body kit and getting the car painted twice... the engine i spent a little over $1000 i jsut had toe bottom end done.. i didnt do any work on the heads.. the engine is pretty much stock.. i did most of the assembly and install work myself.. the interior all together was around $800 including the seats the rims were actually cheaper then the tires.. i got those for $100 each and the tires i spent close to $620 for a set.

forgot to add that it took me a little over 3 years to get her this far... i did a little at a time but i never stopped working on her.. i did a mod at least every 3 months or so... and in 3 years i couldnt belive i got that far in getting her to look like that....

sounds good ive had mine for bout a year so far all ive done is engine work rebored and sleeved the cylinders ground back the crank, forged pistons, forged racing conrods, molly rings, ulp vavle beds, custom lighter flywheel and im thinkin of putting on a DOHC cylinder head with performance cam and matching springs, if this friend of my dads will make it for me for (mates rates plus plenty of beer) other wise just the stock head with performance cam, got a twin turbo set up of a written off skyline to put on it too goin to run 16 to 20 psi through a turbosmart e-boost managment system and im thinkin of buying my mates 60 hp dry nos kit off him (second hand but who cares its dirt cheap) looking to get bout 600hp out of the old girl. The rest of the car is in a sad state but ive givin my self another 4 years to finish it allready spent about $7000 australian on the engine alone an still not finished, cant wait to pull up next to a v8 and leave it like its parked. I just hope my z looks as good as your does when im finished

no, not at all,once its been bored and resleeved to fit the forged pistons and molly rings (HUGE compression advantage) it takes the engine out to 2.9 litre and once i dry sump it, put on 3inch exhaust and install high flow injectors, msd ignition from the battery back and bocsh fuel and water pump with high flow filters and if i can get custom DOHC alloy head made with 330 degree cams with ajustable cam gears from venom plus my mates nos kit 600hp ballpark figure is not out of reach espicially when you consider that turbosmart e-boost management systems lets you boost up to 30psi
trust me my dad and his brother have been building race cars from the ground up for over 30 years alot of there know how and connections are goin into this project
