need an engine swap for my 85 300zx i have numerous internal problems i need a new motor and head and wiring harness. i have searched for JDM swaps but nobody has the z31 engines all they have are the z32 ones. I really dont want to swap it out with another engine that has a **** ton of miles on it like mine that would be a waste. Im so lost I dont know where to look Ive spent all day trying to find something. the last thing i want is a remanufactured engine for like 5 grand. too much

Hell I got one for sale. $250 long block only. Out of my 85 na. 156k on it.

 

Look into a remanufactured motor, but beware most of these companies are crap.

 

I have decided to spend the money on a reman vg30et O'Reily Auto Parts. offered me the best deal so far for 2500 comes with all the gaskets and hardware etc i just have to use my own plates. Of anyone knows where i can get a better deal on a reman engine and not have any problems please let me know

 

Are you that desperate for an engine you are willing to pay 2500$? For that kind of money you can have your stock engine fixed and forged. Go to ebay and searched for used engines. Or go to your local junkyard and start looking for vehicles to pull the engine out of.

 

Might as well buy a new z for $2500.

 

Yes, look for a turbo car because spending $2500 for a VG30ET long block will not give you all the other things you need to make it work.

The VG30ET long block is basiclly the same as the VG30E but with lower compression pistons and a few other small differences.

This is what you will need to put that $2500 VG30ET into your NA car.

T3 Turbocharger & Proper exhaust Elbow (84-87T)
Drivers side exhaust manifold
Down pipe (3" avail at www.cmperformanceexhaust.com)
Front crossmember
Drivers side engine mount bracket (on block)
Turbo Inlet & Charge Pipe
Alternator mount, tensioner and longer belt to move alt to pass side.
Turbo Oil pan
Turbo oil feed lines & a hose for the drain
260cc Turbo Injectors (and proper fuel rails if switching to dual feed)
Turbo ECU to match injectors,
correct o2 sensor.
Intake Manifold Gasket Set
Drivers Side Exhaust Manifold Gasket
T3 Turbocharger Gasket
Crush washers for the oil line (not sure on the size anymore)
Oil pan gasket

 

I have a great motor with a harness and computer Its still in the car and I can skype you and show you how good it runs. I will take $750 for the motor, clutch, trans, harness, computer, everything that has to do with this motor like mass air meter I need this stuff gone asap.

 

I am sitting on a stock 84 z with 230k miles on the original engine. I really need a new one bad. This thing started tapping, checked the oil and found about a quart remaining. I knew I was going to replace this N/A setup with a turbo engine. I am ready to start throwing money at this thing but I can find almost nowhere around that will ship me the Vg30ET because so few of them seem to be floating around out there that people want to part with. Anyone know of anywhere that I can buy a refurbished one at all? Or anyone that wants to sell one and ship to FL?

 

You will probably spend $2k+ to get a "refurbished" or rebuilt VG30ET ready to drop in (don't forget the ecu and various other differences between n/a and turbo).
