Low oil pressue. Switch or pump?

So I have inconsistent oil readings from my z. In the morning when I first start it up it idles a lil high(1400rpm) and has a reading of abt 50ish. Right above the 45 mark. When the car starts to get warm and the rpms back to 800, the pressure goes down to 30ish. When starting up warm, it will read 10 or nothing sometimes. When I'm cruising on the freeway it will sometimes read 50ish or 20ish other times. I don't believe I've ever seen my z go more than 60 on the digi dash unless on cold start up. What do u guys think?

I think the factory gauges are worthless, inconsistent and inaccurate piles of ****. you are most likely running about 40psi at idle when cold and you are most likely cruising about 30-35psi. You really don't need more then 20-25psi of oil pressure at idle when warm though to properly lubricate.

Is there anyway to check if the oil pump is working correctly?

It's a very simple mechanical device. If it weren't working, your engine will lock up in less than a minute. It's the sending unit. They are notorious for going bad. Even worse if you get one from any auto parts store. Just spend the extra $5 or $10 and get it from the dealership.
