Wow!

I just love it when I'm on vacation far from home and I check into my bank account to find a mysterious PAYPAL deduction... A little further investigation (That takes up time I could be spending HAVING &*^%$#( FUN ON MY VACATION) yields the truth behind the deduction.

It seems my ZDriver "Annual Subscription" is on automatic renewal and my year is up.

I didn't mind spending 20 bucks when I thought someone was overseeing this piece of s*&^ and actually fixing things and making it better, but a year later... Myself and the rest of the "Site Supporters" having nothing more to show for our money than a giant purple/blue screen name font and a lame *** section for "members only" that is of no use.

The site owner is never around. The guy who was supposed to take over the administration of the site bailed shortly after fixing a couple of issues and we are left with jack $%^&.

I'm pissed. I am really upset that I wasn't given any real warning that I was about to get soaked for another 20 bucks. I guess an email was sent, but it was only 2 days before the funds were taken. I AM ON *&^%^&* VACATION AND NOT CHECKING MY EMAIL!.

No PAYPAL Dispute available either as it seems that under their terms of use, "Paid subscriptions" aren't disputable.


The email for the person who got the money is the name of the guy who bailed out a year ago... If he's still getting paid, then why the **** is he not around doing anything???

I CALL BULLS(*&.


So, to whomever just pocketed my 20 bucks, enjoy it, go buy yourself some Starbucks or something. Thanks for NOTHING... thanks for empty promises and a years worth of a great big USER NAME. That's just what I &*^%ing wanted for Christmas this year.

Or... Maybe you could get off your *** and fix this dump. Just a suggestion...

i doubt it was intentional. i am sure that this will be taken care of and money will be refunded. silvrhand had a lot happen in his life right after the sponsor thing was started, and i am sure he just overlooked it. nobody is out to rip anyone off.

it really was a waste of 20 bucks, never got anything from it, not like a shirt or a sticker even. it was crap. i like the site just because of the people on it but other than that, idk.

 

Rod, do you have a copy of the email that was sent out before they withdrew the money? I'm just curious because on the supporter page it does have an asterisk saying it was a recurring charge.

I know you hadn't checked your email while on vacation, I am not blaming that for it not being caught in time before the charges taken out.

I see I failed to make my point that I'm not trashing the website, I'm questioning why the promises made when we all "Signed on" weren't kept and why there was no ample warning about the charges...

As far as SilvrHnd is concerened... I don't give a flyin' frog how busy he is or what "Came up" in his life AFTER he took everyones money. He committed to doing something and then gave up on that committment. Since nobody took his place we are left having paid for... NOTHING.


I don't operate my life that way and I don't really appreciate people who do. If you think it's cool to be a flake so be it. I think it's shitty.

20 Bucks isn't exactly the end of the world, but I would have liked to have been given the option before I committed to supporting a quitter for another year. We were all promised things we never got for our money. I don't really care about the hats, stickers (Which were finally sent by other generous ZDrivers...) that isn't why I signed up. I did it, because at the time, this place was coming apart like a cheap suit and we were told it was gooing to help fix the problems and ensure a better site for the future. All we got was the original level of functionality that was already there before the site crashed. Then, we got abandoned.

So, like I wrote before... Enjoy the money, maybe you can put it towrds some scrupples lessons or something.

The site seems to be working well enough... I don't see any problems with how it looks

The recurring PayPal charges are another thing however. Remember that if PayPal refuses to refund your money you can always go through your credit card company. In most cases they come through on your side regarding PayPal claims, plus you can keep them from accepting another charge from that specific PayPal user.
