It's easy... 2 firewall bolts, fluid line, disconnect the pedal bar & yoink! You should be able to buy a rebuild kit for less than a new master cylinder.

Hey every body well as every one knows i had " minor " problems with the clutch master cyl. anyways it turns out it was the original unit so it lasted 140,000 miles is that normal for a part like that ? just wondering.. also i installed a brand new clutch master cyl. i took off the two 12 mm bolts but then i ran into a minor problem the oil line was like rusted onto the old cly... eather way about 30 min and a good pair of vice grip got the line off so everything is ok.. .. but hears another problem that im looking at now..

While i was underneath the car i looked at were the shifter is and i saw oil every were... does the clutch master cly. have any thing to do with the fluid i see were my shifter is underneath the car ? what im trying to say is any of this intwined ? if so what normaly goes out on a shifter ? any helpful sugguestings would be nice right now...

There is a vent tube on top of the tranny that will spout fluid if it's building too much internal pressure.

If it's building too much internal pressure, there are two possibilities.

1. Tranny is WAY overfull.

2. Tranny is about to DIE!

Check to see if it might be leaking transmission fluid from the drain or fill plugs.

backup light switch. the trans in my car and the spare had reallt leaky switches, just get new ones. Ive never seen a manual spit fluid, but if Rod says it then I will believe it, because as i have said before, Rod is the man!

BTW it's a 60mm throttle body... not 65. Just thought I'd clarify

Are you using the 240sx TPS? All I did was extent my TPS wires about 3 inches & reconnect to the 240sx TPS... works like a champ.

Is it even possible to overfill the manual tranny if you use the proper fill hole? Worse case scenario if you get carried away it just spills out the fill hole. Unless you were filling it from another spot above the fill hole I dont think you could've over filled it.

NO! The 240SX TPS should not be used with our ECU! It doesnt have the Wide Open Throttle switch in it, just the Idle switch! Yes it is possible to overfill a manual, cuz the fill hose will block the fill hole you can dump in as much as you want and just be fast with the plug after you pull the funnel. Bleach just modified the zx TPS for the SX throttle body. Im doing the same mod right now too. If you can find the post, Bleach has pics of what he did. Im using the SX TPs as a template by drilling the throttle shaft hole out big enough to slide over the boss on the ZX TB, then scribe the holes and gouge em out.

^ It works fine with the turbo models cause they also dont use the WOT switch in the stock TPS anyways. On a non turbo though the WOT swith is utilized by the stock TPS so the KA TPS would cause some driveability issues.

Ah... J comes through as always. If I had said that, Jmmorriso wouldn't have believed me.

Back to this thread... Nismo619's Z is a turbo.

Three questions (second two are for Nismo619):
1) when using the KA TPS can the L28 TPS connector be retained or does the KA connector have to be spliced in?

2) If the KA's TPS harness connector has to be used: was it wired up correctly?

3) Has the TPS been adjusted since it was installed?
