clutch/ break master cylinder leak?

there has been break fluid dripping down onto my driverside floor from somewhere up around the firewall where the clutch pedal goes , what could be causing this?

Well, your gonna hafta go in and investigate. If you have a leak it'll probably be a line or the master cylinder itself.

Are you sure it's brake fluid? How's the level in the reservior? It could very possibly be by the way.

yea its break fluid, just wondering if this is common in a Z, i looked and saw on the firewall where the clutch pedal breaks through, there is a cardboard like material which looks ripped and fluid has made it wet looking, well thanks for the input

Agreed, there should be no cardboard, fiberboard, or any other wood/paper product in, or around that area.
