other front lips

Are there any other cars out there that would have the same width as our cars? Or something that would be a close shape to fit a lip?

I'm under the impression that the '89-'93 240SX [S13 and RHS13] are the same basic shape, with only a very small discrepancy in width.

It's like that one ZX on CarDomain that had some Blitz-style body kit originally sculpted for a 240SX molded onto it.

Buy a peice of plywood, cut it to shape and paint it black. Then figure out some way to mount it. I've seen more of these than I have CF lips. If you smack that CF lip on a dip or driveway if shatters and you're out a couple hundred bucks. Smash the plywood lip and you're out a few buck. And if you sand it down real good and cover it with body filler nobody will ever know it plywood.

that looks terrible IMO, the body kit doesn't flow with the lines of the car at all

No offense to the owner but that has to be one of the most rediculous Z cars I have ever seen. The body kit like you said does not flow with the car.

So what are we talking about here? Just a flat piece of something as a splitter (or lip as some call it). Or are we talking about something that actually fits over the lower valance?

This question is directed to the original poster.

Cause if we're just talking a flat piece of something then by all means I can make that happen shortly (got another project to get off the ground ). And for relatively cheap too. Fiberglass, Kevlar, Carbon Fiber, Carbon/Kevlar. Whatever.

I think the main problem is not the body kit itself. But that the wheels are too narrow. If he put at least 10" wide wheels and tires on that car. It would look a lot better. But it is just my opinion, I mean the kit looks pretty good, until you look at how the wheels are to far inside the fender.

I don't think it's a bad kit either... They wing is lame though. I totally agree about the wheels. If that car had some wheels to go with the kit it would look pretty good, especially if the car had some color.

Meh . . . that kit doesnt really suit the Z. Its not terrible, but Ihave always thought that the Z's have a very distinct "mouth". If you look at all the Z's with kits or lips designed for Z's they all seem to compliment this feature or work around it. The clip he put on there kinda muttles up. If you're looking for a lip find one thats meant for a 240sx or similar width car and have a body shop fit it. A good body shop can make just about anything work.

all im looking for is a lip not the entire bumper...

the part im talking about is like the one on the bottom. Not that one exactly but something similar that would fit the shape of the lower portion of our bumpers

I value my frontal ground clearance, but at the same time, I know it's best to minimize airflow under the car. So at my last trip to the junkyard, I picked the front underside airdam off the last generation TransAm that I'll experiment with mounting under the front end. If you look under Corvettes and the last Camaros/Firebirds, they all have an urethane airdam under the front of the car. So it's functional, but doesn't interrupt the body lines of the car.

That Z just has the eurethane flex air dam. Looks like a snow plow. Looks much better with the rubber 82-83 bumper and all colored body color.

Oh that stupid ZXR. Ya that car sucks.

No actually I know that guy. I didn't get many pictures of it because it was constantly surrounded by people AND I've already seen it at several shows over the last few years.

If you want to see more pictures from that event, click here:
