Pedal Problem
Pedal Problem
i just got these new aftermarket pedal pads, but the new gas pedal pad is much shorter than my original gas pedal. what can i do to fix this problem? are there any pedal pads out there that will fit the Zs big pedals?
Yeah Motorsport Auto zcarparts.com has a set with the long throttle pedal pad. $39.99 plus shipping. I got a set of universal ones that glow blue, on E-bay. I am going to see if I can get the throttle pad off. I think I have seen somebody with a ZX, that took their pads off. I believe it was on E-bay a short while ago. So I am pretty sure you can take the original pads off. It worked on my Celica, because they wouldn't stick with the rubber pads on.

Please, just don't tell me they are the aluminum / plastic colored petals from Autozone. Is there something wrong w/ your stock ones?
And yes the rubber pads just fit around the metal pedal and just come right off with little effort. And hey, any pedal pad that'll put my accelerator closer to my brake is fine by me, I don't care who makes it as long as it isn't going to flex when I go to down shift. I even taped a peice of wood to my 65 Stangs accelerator to make downshifting easier.
Me neither. I've got wide feet so I haven't had to go that route on my Z. The pedals are pretty close together. But a lot of cars (like my mustang) have the pedals pretty far spaced and it gets to be a chore to try to reach both pedals with the same foot. Plus if someones got small feet it can be difficult to reach both too.
What cracks me up to see is that someone actually got away with making "Racing Pedals" for automatic cars. If you're buying pedals for cosmetic reasons, so be it. To think that an automatic needs racing pedals though, that just cracks me up. Why in gods name would you need to heel-toe in an automatic?

Hey I am far from a ricer.
I can't stand those kind of people.
I am going for a different look in my Z. I have already made the dash gauges indiglo blue, also the stock digital clock, and the original stereo to blue. My Z is going to be Bluestreak the Japanese diaclone, lifelike. And I know I am totally being different, from what I am doing with my Z. But more than 95% of my Z will have stock parts, on him. Minus the shift boot, pedals, and maybe some stronger mechanical parts. The body will have the stock bumpers, wheels, no spoiler, no louvers. Also I am taking off the gawdy chrome and black side trim on the door. And keeping the thick rubber black trim on the bottom of the door. And so on and so forth, you guys get the idea.
As soon as I get the interior mostly togethter, I will have more pics on cardomain. Will keep you all posted as always.

Kiddin Aaron! I think you're doing an awesome job. I can't wait to help you out as soon as my Z is back in good hands with her Daddy
Technically most of us drive 'rice'. What was it like late 80, early 81 that Nissan finally opened a plant in the states? And even then they still imported cars. That means our cars were made in the rice paddies boys
But I guess there's a difference between ricers and ricer punks, huh? I think Dynamic J has one of the few corn fed Z's on here
