heater core

Hi,

Would the heater core becomes corroded if I bypass it until I have time to remove the dash to be able to replace the heater core hoses? If so, what should I do to prevent corrosion?

Thanks
Mike

If you seal it up real air tight and you've been running an antifreeze mixture (not just water) you'll be alright for awhile. If you leave it open, it'll corrode alot faster. The antifreeze will help prevent corrosion while you have it sealed up. But, like the rest of your cooling system, eventually it will start corroding if you dont use it. If you have it disconnected for awhile, just flush your coolant system once you have everything hooked up to make sure you wont have any problems. Good luck and have fun pulling that dash out man.

Ahh the dash is easy to pull out. I did it in less than an hour! Now putting it back together is a little trickier! But still pretty simple, of course it helps to have another ZX similiar to it. To copy from, that is how I did the insulation and carpet.
