stroker crank?

ok I found this on ebay auction

what I want to know is, is this a crank from another car that can be used to stroke a z? It says it has never been in a z but came out of a disel engine .

The crank was pulled from LD28 engine. It is a 2.8L diesel engine in early '80s Maximas. Be carful if you are considering doing this project, it is a lot more in depth than just throwing a new crank in. Check out the Nissan L6 forum on hybridz.org to learn EVERYTHING about the 3.1 stroker.

Yes, it is a lot of work. You have to get new pistons, connecting rods, grind away metal inside the block... not a fun job. Not worth it either unless you build up the rest of the engine. Spend $6,000 on the whole engine, or don't do it at all. Just the bottom end will cost you $3000 to stroke and rebuild it properly.

I heard those are near impossible to get balanced. They shake the crap out of your car and never feel smooth.
