The search feature here is next to useless. If you enter two search keywords, the default Boolean logic should be an 'AND' between the terms, not 'OR'.

For example, if I want to search for threads discussing compressing the bumper shocks, a search using the terms 'compress', 'bumper', and 'shocks' brings up every thread that mentions any one of those three terms. Obviously, that's useless.

No other search engine operates like this. Every 2 or 3 months I stop by this site, thinking that maybe it will be fixed . . . if it were, I'd have reason to visit here more than 5 times a year.

I do agree that the search feature could give better results, but since I use it ALL the time to search for people who don't or won't search, it does work quite effectively.

Just an FYI, search features aren't super simple. Ours uses a weighted word system to broaden / narrow the range of results.

 

If it worked like every other search engine out there, this problem might go away. :shrug:

As of right now, I've just been using google, specifying this site as a modifier.

 

I've done some tweaking to the search, so will you all chime in and let me know if the search results have improved?
