what kind of motor is it likely to have? I got to get used to the look. But it's a GTR I'm glad to see it again.

I've heard/read about so many possible engine options for this car that there is no way of knowing fact from fiction. The best one I read was that it would have a TT version of the VQ45 in it... that would rock. Last I heard was a TT VQ35... who knows? All I know is that it will once again slaughter it's competitors. They had better bring that car to the USA!!!

A TT VQ anything would rock! However, there's always promises of amazing powerplants, but then it comes out with a not-so-much-so motor. Take the Z33 for instance. A lot of people were expecting a TT version...I'm still waiting on it, but will it ever happen? Who knows?

Yeah but, Not to defend the Z33 or anything... but the Z33 power plant N/A puts out close to the same power that the Z32TT did. If you read any of the original Nissan propganda on the Z33 when it first came out, it was said that the VQ35 in that car was built to be the ultimate stock N/A motor... in other words, "We don't need no stinking turbo's" was their basic approach. Also, that motor isn't set up to be turbo friendly. Compression ratio is way too high. They would have to significantly change that motor to be turbo friendly only for the final turbo version to be moderatly better than the N/A was anyway. Also, don't forget that the Z33 still put's up staggering numbers stock compared to a lot of car's that cost a whole lot more money. In that sense, it is a true Z car... Bang for the buck. It would be nice to see them build a 450HP monster turbo 350Z, but I don't think it's going to happen. They learned their lesson in going "Over the top" with the last few years of the Z32TT. It was/is an awesome car, but it got too far away from the original idea of what the Z stood for. It went from an affordable everyman's sports car to a pricey technological showpiece with more bells and whistles than your average light aircraft. Z33 was a return to a more "simple" Z car. Now after having said all of that. If given the coice between a brand new 350Z track model with an unlimited budget for mods, and a stock '96 Z32TT... I'll take the Z32 any day. It's just such an awesome and amazing car.

I honestly think Nissan shoudl stick to the RB family series. they have stuck teh Rb26 on the skyline since the R32 GTR and it only got better. all I have to say is that Nissan better stick to the Inline 6 theory. and for gods sake that looks nothing like the Skyline. they need to re design the body. it looks like a lambohrigini I cna;t get use to that. if they make that car it better stay out of the U.S. I rather go thorugh the hassle of importign me an R33 than buying that one car. I'm sure I'll be smaking it arround with the R33 anyways.

Wow! That's some pretty harsh criticism. I know it doesn't look like an R32 or an R34, but a car can't keep the same body lines for ever can it? I mean look at the progression of the Z car. The only car in the world that still looks anything like it did originally is the Porsche 911 (And maybe the new/retro mustang) I personally like the style of the new Proto. It's clear that it's built on the same platform az the Z33 or G35C, but that was the plan for Nissan all along. I think the R34 will be impossible to top, but time marches on and so does style. As for the RB engine... don't count on it. I've heard many rumours as for the new powerplant, and none of them involve an inline anything. It's either going to be a V6 or a V8 that is 99.9% sure. Sorry you don't like the new design... I sure do.

and stop dreaming, you're not going to have an R33 modded enough to smack around the next skyline, 1000hp Supras, etc etc.

I don't see any Skyline on there, it doesn't seem to work right on my computer. I saw everything else except the Skyline.

it looks ok. nothing special, but better than the original concepts from a while back. the front reminds me of a bulldog that got kicked in the face. really looks like a g coupe and a new charger got drunk and had an illegitemate child. r34 is by far a better looking car imo, but not at all a sporty car. it looks like a grocery getter no matter how much rice you put on it. i guess the proto isnt terrible, i think i could get used to it, but i'd take a z over a skyline any day.

Personally, I think that gt-r is kinda ugly. I'd take a version of this car over that gt-r anyday. I like the widebody look.

Do you mean like $70k+ for the gt-r or $40k+ for the Z? I'm betting the gt-r will be Infiniti anywayz.

nope, I mean like hp, skidpad, etc. and then price. Face it, neither of us are prolly gonna get either of them for a while, so in the mean time, I want to see how they stack up against my Z. Anything TT is going to have more potential, if the skyline comes out with a TTV8, there's going to be some 1500hp nissans on the road in a matter of time.

I know, I bet the performance numbers will be there, ie: at or above the r34. It'll also be a car that most kids will only have in their dreamz...... price wise. This will be Nissan's "IMAGE" car.

Ima a corvette fan. The new gt-r does nothing for me. But if Nissan builds something like that 450z with vette performance and vette pricing (or better of course) and nissan quality and reliability (which is questionable), they'll get a sale from me.
