My New Toy... Literally
My New Toy... Literally
Bought this 87 Toyota last weekend so I can haul junk & go camping. Washed the carpet, and adjusted the valve rockers (classic 22R motor)... ready to cruise!

You need to calibrate your altimeter... I thought SLC was closer to 5,000 feet above Seal Level.
EDIT:

"Salt Lake City elevation is 4,390 feet above sea level with a range from 4,200 to 5,200 feet above sea level."

NICE!!!! I ****en love the older yotas!! My dream yota would be a Marty McFly 85' replica. Ever since that movie, no other truck has had the infamous standing in my mind like that particular model. Ultimate badassness. Im super jealous.
Nice find, Nismo. I wanna see a build thread with your new toy. I demand it. So much potential!!

That is awesome, because that's exactly why I like 80's Toyota Trucks too! -I love the Back To The Future movies- I was actually looking for an extended cab, but I found this one for a score & couldn't pass it up.

Extended cab or standard. . .those damn trucks are SICK. I would have jumped on it too if it was playa priced.
Its funny, guys of all ages who saw that truck in those movies are unanimously attracted to them. My cousin had bought one new when the movie came out. He took me for a ride in it and to this day, that is still one of my fondest memories. It had the high end deck and he threw in a Journey cassette tape, blasting it as he got it sideways out of the driveway. We were only going to the store to pick up toilet paper but that moment has put a smile on my face for the last 20 years

I had one of those at the house for a while. It showed up needing a clutch. The kids were going to use it for hauling their band equipment to gigs. After the clutch, I'd go 4-wheeling and do some banzai runs up some mountain sides. Gutless wonder wouldn't go very far up.
Great... just my luck. I got this truck, and just found a 1990 in gorgeous shape, blown head gasket, $900, at the bottom of my street. Great! Now I gotta go buy that one, and sell this other one!!!
