Just got offered an STS TT C5 Corvette

ah crap... I don't know what to do. A long time neighbor told me tonight that his bro died & they need to sell his 04 Corvette. He said it had some rear twin turbo kit on it, and I asked if it was an STS as I pointed to my STS Trans Am poster in my garage. Indeed it is... and it's got a pair of slicks on it. My neighbor just wants to sell it to pay off the loan... $17k

Yeah... the car is worth about $30k.

He needs to sell it asap... I dunno what to do!!! I have no room for it, and probably won't be able to drive it till spring, but a 500hp car for half price!!! I'm going to look at it on Saturday. It's black on black & apparently has about 70k miles on it, and should look something like this:

DO IT!!! Why even question it?? haha

If I were offered that, and had no place for it I would say bye bye Z, it's been fun

But if you can afford it, you can make space for it...

DO IT! Even if it means getting rid of the Z.

Working on it....

I'm actually trying to place some kind of realistic value on it. There's only been one on ebay lately... it was a Z06 600hp+ and it never hit reserve (only got to $25k). I can get a 72mo loan @ 5.5% which would be about $295mo... not bad.

The real plan would be to drive it at MMP next spring, then sell it & make some money.

Dah... I talked to one of my Corvette buddies. He said that most Corvette owners (and potential owners) would rather have a stock car, and have the work done while they own it. He put it's value @ $21k. Still a deal if I want to keep it... a lot of work if I want to flip it.

Just tell them to put it on ebay. Although tempting, there is no need to profit as a result of someone’s misery. Maybe you could even offer to help him with ebay. If they are not interested then I would buy it.

ooh... not a bad idea! Though I have a feeling he's got bigger injectors & a reprogrammed ecu. Aside from that, all I'd have to replace is the rear exhaust, then I'd have a twin turbo kit to sell separately...

I like where ya head's at Bleachie!

stock injectors are cheap, depending on what they used to tune it with, you might be able to make a copy of the tune and then throw in the stock tune, or you could probably just buy a stock ECU, but you would also have to find a stock airbox, take off all the oil and coolant lines to the turbo's put a stock oil cooler block on, remove the aftermarket oil cooler, and theirs gonna be alot in the interior, boost gauge, turbo time...etc..etc theirs alot involved with a complete STS kit.

If gas hits $5 a gallon while you own it, your resale value may fall even further...
