I want a new whip too!!!

So I bought one... a 98 BMW 318ti for a not so shabby $2500. It has 180K miles ( ick! ) and the engine light is on (just need to do an OBD II scan). Previous owner was a chick wanting to focus more on her turbo Volvo. Wha Wha! Had to snap a couple quick pics:

Good find! Are you going to keep both Bimmers? Im sure you could turn around and sell that for twice what you paid. And have more money for the ZX

As much as I like this new car, I bought it to fix & flip it. KBB value on it is about $5500. If I can put in less than $500 & sell for at least $4500 I'll be happy. The 318's are pretty popular now because they get great MPG, so it should sell fast. If not, I'll drive it around for the winter & sell in the spring.

$8k in Canada? That's like $7k here... I better sell it up there!

This black one I just picked up is a 2dr... my white 92 is a 4dr. They are both 3 Series cars. There is a BMW 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 series. After that series # is the engine in the car. 318 is a 3 series 1.8L 4cyl engine.... 540i is a 5 series 4L V8. The "t" in 318ti stands for "touring package" aka hatch or wagon.

and there ya have a nifty lil lesson on Bimmers.

oh and i was thinking about it.. check engine light.. 180K... you do know that that BMW is the perfect car to recieve an M3 engine swap right? very very popular.. HAULS ***... do it.. you could sell it for so much more... that or just have a sick ride... its so much lighter tooo....

How much do E36 M3 motors go for and where can you get them? (S50 or S52).

I'm sure there are companies that do the same thing as JDM engines... but here's some on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-e...spagenameZWDVW
$6500

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-1...spagenameZWDVW
$5500

One from the UK (I'm sure that's gunna have a healthy shipping price to the USA) http://cgi.ebay.com/BMW-M3-E46-MOTOR...QQcmdZViewItem
