sticky traps are the best. just don't touch them... Or you can throw some decon in there. That'll solve the problem in about a week, and create another problem if they don't evacuate the vehicle before they keel over. haha

Well I went to wash the truck and I think I blew out their little nest. So I'll see if there still there later.
Uh does anyone know what it means the the torque converter gets really loud (loud roar, not the exhaust) but only at random. Doesn't matter if its cold or not or what gear its in. its totally random. there no slipping or anything really

Sell the truck for cheap and get yourself a 400.00 rotted Accord Like I did! 77 Scottsdale 454 th400 tranny 410 rears 8 mpg sold for 800.00 - 425.00 for the Rotted pizza hauler accord = 375.00 + what was left of a really good dime bag that was stuffed between the seats. But got to learn to like the stale pizza and weed stink though cant get rid of that fine stink.

94 was the end of when a truck was a truck. What you are hearing are the early failures of Gm and the auto workers union. These trucks do alot of goofy things with noises bangs bucks clacks and clangs. Just pay attn to your temp gauge "If it still works" The 305 or 350 dont like to be hot. Your oil press gauge also dont pay it ANY MIND!! Bud took his off the road thinking oil pump turned out the gauge was wacky. Unless you get a ton of top end knock your ok. So drive it and fix your z. Or sell it ??

I like my truck its reliable, and my Z is almost fixed, just waiting for parts.
Whats a normal temp for a v8? mine usually is around 210 to 215F And I have no clue where the knock is, it goes away about 5 seconds after the truck starts...

Your temp is just fine 240 260 is hell for them. That my friend EVERY GM V-8 makes that noise. Its takes time to get that oil all the way up and over to the top end. Age has its ways now if its knocking 30 mins later you have a real issue
#43
Yea got my 01 with the 360 strong runner if it doesn't keep shitting trannys like mine has.....30k truck should not **** its tranny @ 80k and 119k now my transfer case is shot. Should of stuck to my tried and true 91 heavy half with the 300 inline wit the e402. REGRET IT EVERYDAY!!

You can look into that but its pretty much a waste almost any chevy I owned has that tap. if you want to know truely its the lifters loseing prime as it sits and the second it gets oil they pump back up. Nothing even to go into the top end and replace. Until the rockers start banging. 89 think the F body 350s had solid lifters still
#47
Factory think the cameros had hydo or solid being a 305 Im almost sure there solid being gm's "cheap" motor 305's were in there base models. Hydro is more money. Bottom line its totally fine to run it like that till one sticks badly. My 454 did that. But now them lifters wore with the cam and the push-rods and rockers now your changing one thing and its going to throw all kinda things out. Buds 88 complained about the same tap dug in there replaced them then a push rod got bent changed all of them to have a rocker come out. So unless your changing the whole top end leave it alone lol Friendly advise oh and with your funky tbi set-up 15 is max really 300 miles per tank in my dads 94 ext cab 4x4 he gets 13 right now.

Its not really the TBI itself its bad, ins the air filter set up that makes the TBI bad. I might look into some new intake stuff later. As for top end work. no thanks. not for a little knock on start up when cold
#49
There you go its a mess!!! The tbi in my opinion is horrible dads think has two jets dumping fuel and air down one hole maybe 2 been awhile since I looked at his. So theres a big loss of power and Mpg. Like the mid 80's dodges with a 1 barrel tbi on a 318 motor could have almost dubble the power if it had a reg carb. The other small advise for your truck NEVER run Quaker state oil in it. Contains wax the gums up the oil ports in your push rods. Also makes a tap....? So if that's what your running get it out. Had my rocker ware completely off due to it not getting any oil.

I use castrol GTW in everything lol And I can mod a TBI to flow much better, its not that hard at all really I think my modded TBI and a K&N intake system would make it flow better, the the next part would be to upgrade the intake, then get a set of headers on it and last thing would to be change the heads.
