Well I wasn't there to take quality photos or video, but here are the only salvageable shots i could get from the crappy video my sister took. The camera was all over the place and she got horrible angles. . . sigh . . .at least the car is moving under 440 power finally. And it lit up one tire without even trying. The carb needs to be tuned big time though, as you can see it backfiring in one shot. The Dana60 coming this winter will take care of the one tire fire though. Good enough for now

Just a bit of an update-
Wheels have been de-striped. Roll cage just came. Waiting on a few tools to complete the cage plus lots more parts on the way . . .

-Lunch break post -

So its day 3 of a 9 day build with my brother. Hes back in the states and were pushing to get a lot done. Taking a little vacation so to speak. The power add-ons will have to wait till December due to time constraints. Instead we've opted to tackle the roll cage, bodywork and paint, power steering and interior during the push.

Finished and installed the new power steering unit, cut the hood to fit the Mr Gasket scoop which looks SICK now with the scoop peakin out, and started stripping the paint from the body with Aircraft remover.

Started on the cage while my brother worked on the body/paint. Got the main hoop tacked and plates welded in. Replaced a section of the floor pan on the drivers side. After we go back out to the garage we'll finish up on the rear of the car, start notching the corresponding tubes for the rear of the cage and tighten up little odds n ends.

Parts keep trickling in and so far the project is going somewhat accordingly. If the car is a solid color by the end of the week and is caged. . .i'll be a happy man. And with that, im heading back out.

So its sunday afternoon and we have 2 more days of camp mopar. I must say that SEM rust-arrestor rocks. It looks great, dries quick and is really durable-awesome stuff.
The car is looking really good. The corner lights, fender mounted turn signals, antena and emblems are shaved. All rust was cut out, cleaned up, SEM'd and replaced with new metal. Both the windshield and rear glass have been removed. The roll cage will be getting the 2 rear bars today. Im so exhausted i cant really think of everything that has been going on. But i have love every minute of it thats for damn sure. And now for the pics. . .

1st coat-


My gun and compressor were giving me hell so the 1st coat is not as uniform as it should be. Good thing its a 1st coat. . .lol. You can really see it on the hood. .

Since i ran out of epoxy i had to throw the scoop on and take the tape off since i wont be spraying again till later this week.

This time around was a little less productive due to the new 9-5er but we still accomplished some crucial goals while my brother was in the states.
Roll cage is fully welded and finished, brakes are rebuilt, undercarriage is fully re-coated with 3M Shutz, drive shaft safety loop installed and a few other things i cant remember. Now we're just trying to focus on tuning the engine for the coming months. We want to drive it around in the final stages of completion. Just too damn tempting. So the door bars wont be installed until the 540 stroker goes in next year, the car will still retain most of its weight and it will be family driven for the most part . .

You're trippin. . .I'd run a Strange D60 with my 540 stroker anyday over a Ford 9".
Not saying Ford 9's arent great for street rods or Chevy's with some juice but not on this car.

Your just adding unneeded weight and making things expensive with a dana in a car though. my cousin is pushing over 1100WHP and in the low 8's through a shortened 9" with only billet axles, a spool and back cut gears. Call this guy (818-361-5457) and ask for ronnie, he has and is one of the biggest and most trusted, high performance rear end builders in america. Tell him bobby sent ya' and explain the situation. I'd run a nine inch or a quick change, before I would run any other solid axle in any of my cars.

It'll be sublime, might happen this year, might not. This biggest part was the drivetrain, cage and body mods. that **** was supposed to be done last year but like any good project its taking longer than expected. We actually calculated our hours in this project. The car only receives love when my brother is in the states. Since the start hes been here for 5 ten day build pushes. for those 10 days we work 8-14 hour days depending on whats being done-make it easy and say 10hrs/day. 2 of us . .carry the one. . .

1000hrs so far. . .. probably more

Got a little work done- Dash resto, new carb, distributor, voltage reg, MSD wires n some engine bay organization. Runs incredible now. Sounds scary at idle and when rev'd... also got two S13 bucket seats for the rear. Haven't fabbed them in yet but they fit in btwn the rear bars so we can scare some passengers as well

Nice work man, keep it up! You have come a long way on this car. Someday, I will get my Firebird where I want her. Just too many projects to do. lol All aside, looking forward to more updates.
