Drilled, slotted,vented, all three?
Z31driver,
Nissan factory Z31's did well in SCCA racing. I have to locate the link to the
Z commercials featuring them.
You are going to need to get a rule book for what ever class or club you will be running with. This way you can find out what brake upgrades would be legal in your class.
Let us know what class your planning on participating in and then we can give you a hand sorting your brakes out.

VENTED VENTED VENTED
Drilled, rice. Slotted, almost has a purpose, basically not needed, and will kill pads faster.
Some street cars, like Porsches have "drilled" rotors (Porsche actually are as-cast, not drilled). Look at any real race car, vented rotors with no magical holes and no slots. There was a purpose for cross drilled rotors back in the days when pads outgassed, this is no longer really a concern. Plus a drilled rotor will last 1/3-1/4 the amount of time generally speaking, even under street conditions, because drilling the rotor disturbs its structural integrity. You can help fix this by cryo treating them, or again looking at a Porsche as-cast setup, which is usually a very expensive $3,000 or so conversion for nice Porch stuff.
If you can get vented, do it! I would like to do this myself, the stocker 240Z unfortunately has a solid rotor, doh.

Z31Driver,
I wasn't sure if you had a Z31ZXT or a Z31NA . Here are the two Street Prepared classes that the Z31 Run in. B Street Prepared for the Z31ZXT and E Street Prepared for the Z31 NA. Cross drilled and slotted rotors are legal in this class , but you limited to
the size that originally came on the car. Vented rotors if not equipped are not legal.
Hope this helps.
