There are 2 guys at www.fastassdatsun.com building a YZ kit with Corvette suspension on a box tube frame. The site is under construction but I believe this pic I saved is from there. They have e-mail at their site for questions.

Steve ,
Kyle was just looking for the width of the fenders as mounted on the 240/280 body. He has a guy who is going to be building a tube frame for him , and is trying to get some idea on how wide he can go. That tight wad Kyle hasn't bought his front fenders yet

Thanks,
Mike

I will measure them this weekend. GTzilla has the same front fenders on his car, (before it was called 280YZ). Looking from above, the fenders curve out in the middle of the wheel arch. If you ran a tire all the way out to fill it much of the tire would stick out and look funny so just numbers might be misleading. I will take a picture of that too. Have Kyle look at all the pics of Ted Fisher's car on the Reaction Research website. Those are 12 inch wheels with 5 inches of back spacing. Even though he has a tube front frame I believe his struts are mounted in stock locations.

You can tell a little of the fender curve from this angle.

I came up with 71 1/2 inches widest to widest with the flares set on the car. If Kyle wants, I am down in the south bay area a lot, Cupertino and Los Gatos visiting family , I could bring them down for him to try out with his car and wheels or if he is up Folsom way he is welcome to drop in. Steve
