i WISH it marked the end of the simpsons. that show needed to be gracefully retired like 3 or 4 years ago. i like all the old episodes, but recent ones are pretty crappy. they are trying too hard to be like family guy. but i am still thinking of going downtown this weekend to see the Kwik-E-Mart .

it does mark the end of the simpsons. thats the reason they are making the movie, they would have made one earlier but they felt it would have ruined the show/people would stop watching. trust me, this is the end of the simpsons. look it up!!!!!

"In an April 2006 interview, Matt Groening said, "I honestly don't see any end in sight. I think it's possible that the show will become too financially cumbersome...but right now, the show is creatively, I think, as good or better than it's ever been. The animation is incredibly detailed and imaginative, and the stories do things that we haven't done before. So creatively there's no reason to quit."[66]"
"Production of the film occurred alongside continued writing of the series despite long-time claims by those involved in the show that a film would enter production only after the series had concluded."

""We tried to save this until the end of the series, but that intention was undone by good ratings," said Groening. Last month, Fox committed to two more seasons of the show."
And here's a list of the upcoming season 19 episodes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sim...28season_19%29 Obviously, if there's a season that's coming *after* the movie, then the movie cannot be the "end".

well now that the movie's out, anyone care to comment?
I personally thought the beginning was extremely funny as it was just jokes then they had to ruin it all with a story.
overall i'd rate it as awesome.
