The official post whore thread..
I see you want some exotic ****.
yeah vietnam and stuff were the situations i was talking about lol. there are plenty of other guns with the muzzle velocity and range of assault rifles. .308 hunting rifles can hit 1000 yards no problem a lot of time. i won't have one. i can see where some people would like them, but i like a gun to be a little more.

I don't see how SMGs or hunting rifles could be "a little more" then assult rifles. Hunting rifle may have the accuracy and muzzle velocity of assult rifles, but it lacks the rapidfire/3burst options. Along with inability to carry but only few rounds, it may be an excellent precision weapon, but it is not and will not every replace the all purpose fuction of assult rifles.
While the AK established itself during Vietnam as a very reliable tool that will not jam even under most severe conditions, the M16s had some problems that were worked out over the period of the war and after, so the M16 at it's early stages of development may have been not so great of a weapon, but that is not the case today. It may not be as simple to operate as an AK(in terms of breaking down the weapon) but it has established itself as battle tested and as a reliable weapon.
SMGs and hunting rifles/sniper rifles have been around way before Vietnam, but the assult rifles are always the choice of the main battle rifle. SMGs and hunting/sniper rifles have their place in the military, but it's the assult rifles that carries the bulk of the work in wars. That's because it has the features that are lacking in the SMGs(muzzle velocity, distance, larger caliber projectiles, stopping power) and hunting/sniper rifles(inability to carry more then few rounds and lack of rapid fire option).
Just for curiousity sake, what do you consider "a little more"
this is what i really want!!!!

the "only" part was extreme sarcasm. haha. i could do alot with 12 grand haha.
also, if you got a new exhaust/intake mani gasket no RTV. only thing that gets RTV is stuff that has fluid passing through it, like water necks and oil pan gaskets, and even then you don't need RTV, but you can use it.

unless your saying that is a previously used gasket that he reused and was now removing in that pic...
thats what i might be thinking... but i remember something about him with a vac leak at the intake mani so that might be the reason to, but i wouldnt RTV the exhaust side at all it will just blow out. but seriously. you dont need it. i never used any on the several gaskets i changed even the turbo motor and NEVER had a problem as long as you torque it properly and re-check the torque specs after driving it a week or so.

theres NO genesis thats been in the Jyard yet trust me, the things just got delivered not even a month ago. at least the coupes. that world moter (the 11B or whatever it is) is in so many cars though and in a RWD application it would make for a great swap with alot of aftermarket support and low low weight.
