If you use synthetic and plan to go extended milage between oil changes, I think K&N is a better choice. Besides that, I just wash my car with Nissan Car Wash!

also, you can get the K&N filter from most parts stores. convenience plays a factor in my filter choice.

Fram filters suck. I use Purolator oil filters, they are pretty good. K & N are a little pricey for me. But it is all a matter of opinion. I do have a K & N air filter though. That has made a difference in how my Z runs. He breathes better, and that is a plus.

I get my K&N filters for $11 each vs 6 or 7 for other crap filters. Spending an extra $5 a couple times a year for an oil change doesn't really seem to break the bank. I just eat at Skippers one night instead of Red Lobster to make up the difference!

A lot of technicians are full of crap too. I'm in no way defending K&N tho. Remember: filter = evil.

he;s a diesel tech for cummins, graduated uti and is graduating at morain valley so he can have a degree as well, he built his DSM all by himself alot more done to it than most people on here have and it hasnt gone bad yet till he was ran into a wall on the bridge. he is pretty damn smart id say. also, there is alot of word saying going around to back up the K&N is kinda crappy, its not just him and a few people i know.

I make my own filters from a soup can and carboard!

(also works well as a wireless network antenna)

Sounds like you have a secret crush on him. And there will always be someone going against the popular thing. Ask him if he's personally tested the flow rate between a K&N and the filter he "loves" now.

If he's personally PROVEN that K&N sucks... it's all good. If he hasn't, tell him I say STFU.
