Those questions are not quite as loaded as you may think. Obama tried to pass a complete ban on firearms in Ill. during his time there in the senate, including black powder guns. Police wont have the ammo to supply their automatic weapons very much longer. The DOD nixed a private contract for reloads with Georgia Arms (second largest civilian supplier of ammo behined hornady) a month or so ago. Put 30 people out of a job, and then they scrap the brass caseings and give the brass to China to help "pay off" the national debt.
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.p...w&pageId=92095
No one voted on it, since it was a private contract. Take the bullets away and we have no way to defend ourselves or our families from any kind of threat domestic or forgein. People panic and buy up ammo, its hard to get anything even here in Texas...prices are sky high and there is no selection. I think it is all scare tatics personally, but it is working. I cant get a box of .30-.30 rounds for under $40. anymore, six months ago I was paying $20. .223 are harder to come by, 9mm, .45 ACP and the russian 5.67 rounds have been pulled off the shelves. Sporting good stores are sold out of reloading equipment.
2nd Amendment states;
A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
It's quite clear the founding fathers new what they were talking about when they wrote the Amendments and the Constitution. Don't take my word for it though, there are other articles out there but you have to dig, they won't just give you the truth.
I get a lot of my news from here, http://www.drudgereport.com/
Good articles and they are not slanted to the left or right.

this thread got me thinking for a while and i decided i'm not really worried about a potential gun ban. sure i hope it doesn't happen, and i'd most likely move out of the country if it did happen, but i think i could stay here and still not be afraid for my life in my home.

i would suppliment guns with stupid homemade stuff like simple explosives hidden in trees and potato guns and cross bows. sure it would not be as good as just having a semi-auto shot gun in my hands, but the big picture is that nobody would expect it, and it could very easily look much more professional than it is. so gun ban or no gun ban, i'll survive. i'll probably move out if it happens though.

.50caliber solid steel armor peircing sabo rounds sell at the local gun shows for $65.00 per round.

Pros:
its a .50cal round.
it can punch through light to medium non-reactive tank armor.

Cons:
Requires owning a .50cal weapon to use.

sabo rounds will destroy the muzzle brake on a barret .50cal, so the muzzle brake must be removed before firing. These bad boys pack a punch (beyond the normal .50cal), and without that muzzle brake you better be ready to hurt cuz these smoking hunks o' love grab meat on both ends of that rifle.

lol if you guys think there is going to be a complete gun ban then idk what to say

there is no need for a person to have an AK47 under their bed for any reason, nor a room full of ammunition... unless you want the US to become the middle east, just throw in some road side bombs and some kind of conflict and you got it

i have a gun cabinet with 2 12 gauges and 1 16 and my dads 306... i would be pissed if my guns were taken away but they are not... if i legally had a AK47 and had to give it up for the safety of me and everyone else i would, there's no point to having an assault rifle when we have a VERY large militia and army reserve

i love how the modern assult rifle picture has an AK on it.
oi thats modern for you.

if i had an AK it'd be for show/target shoothing for fun, mabe a last resort if some one broke in but i'd probally have a pump action that i would use if the bat didnt work.

theres nothing quite as satisfying as beating the crap out of some one breaking into your home with a blunt object

+1 Well said man, you said it all. I am so freaking tired of him being all over the media, and even in bookstores. The children's section no less. It is like he is a god or something. I start getting nauseated every time, I hear about him, or see him. Give me a damn break!! Anyway I just ignore him, pretty much. I didn't vote for him either. And it is really the only way I can cope with his existence.

Oh I got one...Obama, Biden '08 "You can keep your hope" I'll keep the truth. Or something like that. I saw it on a bumper sticker a week or 2 ago. I laughed my **** off.

The 2nd Amendment is not only there to protect us from us but, it also protect us from the government.

I hear ya man! I went into a Barnes & Noble a couple months to get Ann Coulter's newest book and I had to wade through all of the Obama propraganda and finally found Ann's book way back in the corner! Speaking of her book, she's covers how biased the media is and how they glossed over all of Obama's associations and totally treated Sarah Palin like crap. I'll never think of the media the same after this last election....they're such hypocrites.
For example they made a big deal back in '05 when Bush spent $40 million on his inaugeration.....but then Obambi spends $180 million on his- over 4 times as much as Bush!!!- and not a peep out of the media!!! Screw them....

1/20/13 The end of socialism in America!!!

it wouldn't matter if we had guns or not if it ever came to it and the military was behind it we couldn't stop it with a few assault rifles here and there...

btw the constitution was established what 200 or so years ago? Im sure they had the best opinion about how we should go about our affairs in today's world

What do you think the revolutionary war was? A bunch of civs with "assault rifles" gain independence from one of the largest empire the world has ever seen. We were out gunned and out manned but, you know how that turned out.

I also don't believe that every single person in the military would side with the government. I also doubt that they would open fire on their friends and family. I would say most people who joined the military don’t want to see us become a socialist nation either. All of my friends of join have AR15’s and they don’t like what America is becoming.

Who do you think funds the government? We do, if we do revolt I doubt we would continue to pay taxes and work for the gov (including military).

You really need to reread the constitution because; it has a lot to do with today's affairs. The same stuff happened then that happens now.

-The checks and balances of the government.
-Freedom of speech (look at the fairness doctrine)
- Illegal searches and seizures (sp)

There is a ton of stuff I can list I am just at work right now. If you need more let me know.

good point exactly why civilians don't need assault riffles, cause the army will never go against its own people

and the colonists had minute men who were a makeshift militia if they had had a real militia there would have been no reason for the public citizens to have cannons... we have a real legitimate militia, no reason for us to have assault rifles

Even if the colonists had a "real militia" it would still be made up of civs who had guns. It would be the same who were the minute men. The Brits would not have given them guns for their own militia.

Where do you think militias come from? They are made up of civs. If we need a militia again, where do you think we would get our weapons? US gov isn't gonna hand over weapons.

Once before we had to take a stand and we had civs with guns. We are being taxed way more than the colonists.

Rant!! Not aim towards 2by2!

-Gov spending is out of control
-The debt is through the roof
-The gov is taxing the rich aka "Job creators" out the ***.
Read this: http://finance.yahoo.com/banking-bud...res-Go-Missing
Once we start losing the rich, we start losing job creation.

This isn't just Liberials it is the GOP too! We really need to vote all of the *** clowns out of office and start fresh and set term limits on Congress.

There is going to be a breaking point and we are going to need to take a stand. When we do we need our guns. The founding fathers understood this (they just went through it). That is why they wrote it the Bill of Rights. The Constitution has a lot to do with today's affairs. The same stuff happened then that happens now.

It is a shame you believe this. It is people that believe what you do that will allow the country to end as a memory. Did you sleep through history class? Just study ANY fallen power throughout the history of the world and you will find that your statement is wrong. Power from the people to the gvt. ='s disaster. History is where you will find the answer to this question - the answer is not a feel good philosophical concept that was developed in some teenagers mind.

Since you have a tendacy to argue, know that I am not playing that game. Just read books, stay out of your own head and you will find the truth/answer.

I really think some people on z-driver.com are against normal law biding citizen's owning ak-47 ar-15 mini-14 tompson etc "Assault Rifles" thats not right .

Ammo is %^&*@# expensinve ! 7.62x39 mm doubled! from 4.99 a box of 20 to 10.99 for abox of twenty . Ouch !

I have noticed alot of people saying 12gauge 12 gauge but none of you are telling us what you defence round ? 000 buck ?? 00 buck ?? slugs ??

As for me its only AP ammo only ! if a bad guy breaks into my house and is wearing body armor a 9mm 22lr etc would "bounce" off him but if you packing HOT 5.56 AP 3000+FPS ammo says his vest is " DEFEATED "

AK-47s under the bed ? wtf ? why not sleep with it in bed with you ! Keep her nice an warm ! lol

I would have to agree with Zbrick, power from the people to the government = disaster. A complacent people is an indicator of a dying democracy. Unfortunately they are "dumbing down" younger generations, keeping them occupied with television and technology. In high school they used to make us read books like brave new world and farenhite 451, or Orwell's 1984. The less time you spend thinking, the better off the government is.
"What good fortune for governments that the people do not think for themselves"--Adolph Hitler.
I hate it when I hear my friends say "I cant do any thing about it" or "we don't need guns in our society" because it is submission to circumstances that can be and will be changed. "United we stand, divided we fall".
I haven't voted for the wrong guy in the last twelve years, I am for gun rights and I believe in the second amendment right to bear arms to secure the safety of my family and my property, and that it should be up to the states to determine what, if any kind of regulations should be placed on firearms. The federal government has over stepped its boundaries and sovereign power must be restored to the states respectively and immediately.

2by2, you need to seriously read up on history. i think it's time to instate mandatory military service in this country. might change the tune of all the little turds who bitch and whine about whats wrong with the country but have never done anything to serve it. damned entitlement generation.
